Oh so joyful!!! Some advice!?

Introduce Yourself

There's nothing wrong with T & R. If you want to give it a go then you should! If you're wanting natural/neglect dreads and just finding it difficult to remain patient, just forget you have hair and throw on a tam :o) Either way it will be a while before you have dreads. Best of luck and Many Blessings

shrinkage, lumps, balls, tails and loose roots!

Dread Maintenance

I promise you all there will come a day when you miss the crazy, hectic days of baby dreads! Once they mature they stop changing so much and they just get longer, which is great but not quite as interesting to watch! <3

Hey Karen, sorry to hear... I can say that with my dreads, being natural, they look a lot less uniform and tidy than yours do and I've gotten the looks on the street, my family asking constant questions, all that jazz. But I don't feel ugly with them, I simply love them. Sure I'm very eager for my hair to gain some length and for my knots to really starting looking like dreads, but I respect the process and I want to take the time to grow into them because I know it'll be worth it.

It looks like your dreads have come along very well. I think they suit you. You have to take what others say with a grain of salt... you know yourself and why you chose to get dreads, and you're educated on the truth about them. Educate others when they approach you. Hopefully you decide against getting rid of them :)

hair sampling drug test.

Life Issues Facing Dreads

from what i understand the hair follicle test can detect between 30-90 days of your last use, it's accuracy is debatable when testing for cannabis though. It's not years because they are actually testing the follicle not the dead hair, and hair grows at a rate of about .5" per month. Good Luck!

The terrifying question of...lice!

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

delacet kills the lice and the eggs, it's all natural, there's really no way to remove all the eggs if you have dreads as long as you use something that will kill them it shouldn't be a big deal.I wear a hat pretty much every time I'm around other people's kids and I check my own kids hair almost daily to be sure there's nothing living in there!

it looks just like it supposed to~ like backcombed hair. Nobody's looks amazing from the get go! Once they mature in a few months and become dreads they will look great.

cutting dreads

Dread Maintenance

Hey mama! I can (almost) 100% gaurantee you that they will not stay like that. Between years 1 & 3 there will be so many changes I def. wouldn't recommend cutting them (I know u said you wouldn't but I had to throw it out there!). I have seen quite a few sets start out like that in the first year and then completely morph. Hang in there sister, i too sometimes feel like the insanity that is my hair will never subside but I know sooner or later I will miss the madness of it all when it settles down. Much Love

General Talk

Is anybody else having problems with the site loading today? Home will not load nor will my page. I can get onto the forum though. I use firefox and have not had any problems since joining almost a year ago.
