Shampoo Formula?

Dread Maintenance

uhm the broners i use now for even my body is 1/10it was refering to the bakin soda, but i didnt' have the recomended amount of soda, andddddddddd the washes i used previous i stayed away from scratching, digging or even really rubbing my scalp, i just poured some on, squeeze my locks a bit each, then rinsed with hot water, it kep the dread clean, but the scalps where i gotta pay attention, i didnt' use wax, accept once on ONE dread..to experiment in the first months growth to see which did bette,r might i say the one without acceled way faster but anywho... no wax, i think i just hadn't washed my scalp really good since i started them a month or so back.. plenty of weekly washings but never worked the scalp cuz my hairs hard enough to get to lock, need to sea salt, and roll a lot to keep the hairs in for the first month, now they're starting to do their own thing as i thought they would a month or so in..anywho..hopefully a good bakin soda wash, well soaked will take care of my gunk..cuz i don't want it in there for that long man, dont' want it in my dreads, or on the new growth ya know.. hmmf we'll see i guess~zak

Shampoo Formula?

Dread Maintenance

washing

Dread Maintenance

i just tried the baking soda wash, for my first time, i wanna say its my fourth wash, maybe fifth total in the month and 3 weeks i've had em..well the back of my head is that old, the top n sides are about a month today actually.. yay! they're locking up :Danywho first time baking soda wash, i put about four cups of water in a sauce pan with a pour spout, two tablespoons of sea salt, maybe a little less, and a drop of patchouli oil together, mixed well, oh and idk how much baking soda, maybe 4 or 5 table spoons, and slowly poured over my head to make sure it all got soaked, did my thang, and when i was done i rinsed out my hair with real hot water, it smells great, its not too frizzy, and i'll know about the texture when it dries, so far im really happy with that method of wash, cuz in the beginning stages you dont' wanna be to rough on em, to keep from getting lots of loose hairs, and since the soda wash is a scrub free route, im down...i had like not really a lot of itches, but i did however, have these little tiny scabs on my head, im thinking honestlly...cuz of how often i sea salt, and the concentratedness of my sea salt spray, cuz it supossedly is very corrosive, so it may have eaten away at my scalp a little...anywho between that, and nto washing for abotu a week and getting sweaty, i had scalp build up as well as a little oil, when id scratch my scalp with my nail, id get liek this white, mushy organic material under my nail, im down with organic mushies...but not organic mushyness... lolanywho i'll post up as to how my hair feels when its actually dry, but thanks se for the soda wash hiint! seems good so far! peace n love everybody :D~zak

Dreads forced to congo

Dread Maintenance

erik your congo is beautiful! Jess Gergely said:
i don't think big congos are a big deal. my boyfriend has 4 dreads with 1 root!

he's had them for three years, though, too. but i think it's the coolest thing ever. i have two congos, like i said before, & i love them. =) they're the most unique out of all my dreads, because they're joined, like lovers! that's how i see it.

but again...i'm also a girl, lmao! just a little insight into my world! :D

dreadlock styling tips

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

dood, se, your up do is amazing, i love your locks, and your soul man, and that girl dirty momma has some flyyyyyyyyyyyyyy heady dreadies man... wholy crap, peace n love baby, obviously enough to go around :D she must be great!I WEAR MINE EITHER PULLED BACK BEHIND A FOLDED BANDANA TO KEEP EM OUT MY EYES, OR A REGULAR STYLE...woah...caps, lol... which to me is a bandana typical style with my dreadies out the back, they flair cool, and don't gotta worry about em getting wet, being in my face, or stickin out funny, they're new, so it trains them a little bit, and since honestly im out n about sooooo much, hiking, discing, biking, trail walking, etc... just plain in the wilderness alot, i like the bandana idea cuz it keeps em from getting pulled at by sticks and such :)peace peeps, zak~

General Questions

hey dood, dont' even worry about getting people fired up, if you have positive intentions, and your'e firing up a controversial issue like... just about anything. i think its good and even healthy to bring people to speak their truth, to speak their side.getting fired up is also just teh same as getting inspired to share your thoughts...its all for the good of us all :D thanks for firing us up man :D !!!nemaste~ my friends, zak
