Help in Tacoma WA

salon and loctician dreads recovery

you dont have to wait when you feel like it a couple days or so

just be sure to wash with the right stuff in the right way

yea that wax is nasty evil stuff

its really criminal that they still sell it and that salons still use it

id call them demand a refund and tell them if they think wax belongs in dreads they have no right being in business

thick locks ? help

Introduce Yourself

neither

why would you want 'even sections"

35 is a good number especialy if some are thin that means some will be good and thick

just leave em alone

in a year or 2 or 20 if you want to let a couple congo you can

just be aware that thick dreads have a far greater tendency to stink

they have many other drawbacks as wekll

id stick with the 35 you got

Does rasta/rastas mean dreads?

General Talk

i think that was a language barrier thing

and well the topic was partialy about the salon posers that claim to create "rasta locks:" with wax backcombing and crochet

but was mostly about the term rastas being used for dreads wich is the spanish word used for dreadlocks (coincidence maybe?) if you translate dreadlocks into spanish its rastas

Does rasta/rastas mean dreads?

General Talk

in espanol rastas means dreads just like jata in india

however there are salons like rasta locs or marley studios claiming to create rasta dreads using crochet and wax

if its not a spanish or hispanic or argentinian then uea its probably a poser

however

there are some rastas..new to rastafarian culture that dread using wax or crochet not knowing any better just cause theres so much bad info stating that thats the way its done..no exceptions

rastas especialy young rastas fall for those traps just like anyone else
