Newbie here..HELP!!
Dreading Methods
1-3 times week
your not using enough it has to be a 1 to 10 ratio 1 cup to 10 cups 1/2 to 5 etc
if its too weak it loosens dead skin into a paste but then yiu cant get the paste out
towel drying can rub away any knots that formed
what are you washing with?
how long is it?
if its oily
wash with 1 part baking soda 10 parts water
soak 10 min then rinse
dont towel dry
afdter weeek extend the wash cycle a day
add sea salt to the baking soda (3.5% of the water volume)
when u get to 3-4 days without oiliness u can do a very weak acv rinse after the baking soda but rinse rigyt away (after rinsing the baking soda out)
or switch to the liquid shampoo from www.dreadlockshampoo.com
never use a crochet hook and dont try to make them look mature in a day
crochet hooks cause extreme damage and 1 single use delays progress by 6 months
they should have loose hairs early on this assists in the dreading process
when u tnr just randomize as much as possible
do not use a square brick pattern
stop combing a week or 2 let the hair section itself u can let it dread itself or then tnr tythe natural sections
your hairs not hard tyto lock up just what your doing is making it hard to lock up
noooo never ever use wax!!
the crochet broke tons of hairs which pop out
thety will never be locked up in 2 months it takes a year..but the crochet made it take 6 months to even begin to dread
what are you washing with?
stop trying to force it just sit back relax and let it happen
your hair would have dreaded beautifuly if all you edid was stop combing
the pillowcase vicki sent ya might be better but try wool a wool sweater over that wool also creates stticv wich helps get it knotted
welcome and yes definately experienced tgbat
