Advice about sectioning please!

Dreading Methods

It all depends on how much hair you have... I have thick hair and I ended up with 60 something...cant ever get an exact count LOL! But you want to stagger it like laying a brick wall. If you dont you will have block-y sections on top of one another and lots of empty space!! hope that helps!! :-)

Yeah my hair is to my butt and I backcombed. All of them came loose in different areas, but then they tightened up again and on and on. I'm 3 months in, and now I have crazy loops everywhere. Its just part of the process. Just let them do their thing. ;-)

Dont wash your dreads at night...you will have mold. Do it early in the day so you have plenty of time to dry!! :-)

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same...I'm full of loops right now...so they are deff* alive and moving. I do admit though its a bitch keeping them sectioned. Mostly at the roots though...and ripping causes more loose hair and uggg just seems like a vicious circle. Plus everyone warns not to twist...which is what I did at first (till coming here) to keep the loose hairs were they belonged. Do you mind if I ask how you went about it?

Hey Everyone,

I need to ask about wrapping dreads...especially roots. Is this a good idea?? I'm 3 months in, started with backcombing... and all I do is separate after washing. The reason I ask is because its becoming more difficult to separate/section them now...and quite painful I might add!!

I dont have any beads nor can I afford any...yet...what I do have is hemp...would that do?

Thanks a bunch in advance!! Much love all!!

Bangs with dreadlocks...what to do

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I haven't really had any issues...I keep mine tucked behind my ears, and they seem to stick to themselves LOL!

hmmm only tip I can think of, is keep your dreads tied back? or maybe just let them do what they want... I dont even brush mine...just with my fingers.
