im new would love feedback!

Introduce Yourself

hi! There looking good to me!. I think thing dont worry at all if all the backcombing comes really loose its meant too, i started with this method also and thats what happened, the backcombe just helps with initial sectioning, also there is no need to twist them i've heard it can have nasty effects on your scalp and it will probably undo the progress your knotties are making on their own. Yours are looking great so far tho.

Any help would be appreciative!!!

Dread Maintenance

just and idea, as i have backcombed to start with and to be honest it pretty much all comes loose anyway this is just an opinion (so feel free to disagree) but maybe just go natural and chuck the combe away all together and let your hair find the natural sections. I mean backcombing helps with that but i discovered pretty early on your hair just does what it wants to anyway, my bestest dreads are the natural ones, waaaaaaay much more character. good luck with the combe out and cant wait to see your dieted dreadlings grow out!

wrapping dreads in hemp?

Dreading Methods

totally agree with SE on this one and from experience too. I put in a hemp wrap around 2.5-3 months and left it there for another 3 ish months. Then saw that this dread was not thinckening like the others. as it was preety much straight hair before. Then when I came to take it out bits of hair were all tangled and partly dreaded in. It looked awesome when it was there, but now it is noticibly the thininist of my dreads.

Start of natural dreads

Introduce Yourself

Hi Duncan! so great there your on this journey to dreads again, your progress at 2 weeks looks great. your honesty is inspiring, Im from the UK too, from the west country. And of course I certainly know all to well about the drinking culture here. Especially around uni. Im a uni student too, Sorry imassumingbut im taking this from the tuition fees comment?? Any way. I have had some very odd looks from ppl here since i've been dreading. But its sooo freeing at the same time. The first few months we're the hardest but after a while the craving to comb goes away, this experience changes you. There is a secret found in the patience of it all. So basically this is bestest journey ever. A personal one, yet surrounded by this awesome community of people that listen and truley understand what it is to find freedom. Stick with it mate. Blessings

Nusing job with dreads?

dreads jobs employment issues

Its great to see so many medical folk with dreads. :) so i just got a job in cardiac ward as a health care assistant. I have never thought about getting rid of dreads but ive been contemplating it recently. Do you guys find infection control with dreads an issue in that we need to wash our dreads a whole lot more like after most shifts and as it takes long to dry and lets face it whn you get of nights the last thing you wanna o is sit with a hair dryer for like a hour trying to dry them. How do you guys deal with this? If anyone can help with a answer id be sooooo thankful as will my dreads. Ive slept on it and im not running to buy a comb just yet now!

Faith In Nature Tea Tree shampoo- Ingrediends Advice

Dread Maintenance

Awesome!! well I've seen from your page that you've been dreading for 20 Years!! WOW soooo im guessing the conditioner is needed. Im just coming upto 7months. So do you do dilute it in a jug or anything first, like the guys with Dr Bronners do?? It seems like the most natural thing I have found here in the UK. Thanks for your reply.
