please help with this frizz ball

Help! Save My Dreads

Some people can be some ignorant. And just the fact that they yelled it from across the terminal, they were probably some hicks that think they have something to prove.

Your hair is gorgeous. I'd bet they were really saying it to get your attention. They probably thought you were hot, and haven't grown up passed that elementary school phase when boys hit girls they like because they don't know what else to do

safe shampoo

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

The first ingredient is Sodium Laurel Sulfate. That alone has been linked to causing a few cancers. It is terrible for your health and should be stayed away from in all products. So, no, never use this soap.

Check out the soaps from dreadlockshampoo.com. If you were willing to spend over $10 for that bar, you'll love these ones. They are all natural and use as many local products as possible

General Talk

Well first... Have you done a few wax removal sessions, at least? Wax won't wash out in normal soap and water. It takes some scrubbing and time to get it all out.

Second, Any products you put in your hair other than soap and water, and maybe some sea salt negates the idea of natural locks.

Barbadensis is in the palm family. It's closely related to aloe. It will condition your locks, but in the process, it will actually make them hard to knot and slow down your process. I'm not sure about it leaving residue, but it is just not good for helping them lock, anyway

Neglect and Sea Salt

General Talk

It's not required at all. It does give your hair a little boost in locking. But it'll lock up just the same without it

only 3 weeks!

General Talk

They are doing outstanding. And only 3 weeks? The TnR is holding nicely. I hope you're not redoing it when it loosens up

New, Help and Advice needed please :)

Dreading Methods

Palm rolling your hair is not natural. Natural locks mean you did nothing but wash and separate. Palm rolling is an active process to create something.
That said, it only does 1 of 2 things. Either it does nothing because yo do it lightly and it doesn't create lasting tangles. Or you do it to the point where you do create real knot. If you do see progress from it, you are doing it too hard and too much. This will irrevocably damage your hair. Palm rolling destroys your roots. It's a damage that you don't see right away too, which is the worst kind. In a year you will see that your roots are so much thinner than the lock itself. This makes it so that in time, the lock can actually fall out because it weighs so much and the root hairs can't support it. Check out my video on palm rolling and what it did to my locks. You'll stop right away. I only did it for about 2 weeks

Hi, there!

Introduce Yourself

I've heard that if you have more than one they don't talk much. We had one for about a year before we brought the other home. Int hat year he still didn't say anything. But that was the stupid one. We let him fly around the room a few times and he just flew into walls and fell tot he floor where he'd run and hid under the bed or behind a dresser.
