Hi!
this is exactly why i quit using bronners. Couldn't get the waxy, slimy residue out.
Using BS with a little bit Seasalt now, residue is gone - i'm pleased

well, its dry now and my hair feels clean but it does feel a bit conditioned i guess. kind of like i can feel something on it. also my scalp feels like there's a waxy residue on it which wasn't there before washing. maybe if i follow the wash with a bs rinse next time it would cut the residue. back to the drawing board:(

Heather said:so i tried this with a bottle of tea tree bronners that had about a 1/4 of the bottle left. i used distilled water and sea salt. one thing i noticed is that the sea salt does a weird clumping thing at the bottom of the bottle. i left it in the cupboard for about a week and it turned into a creamy soap. so strange and cool. i washed my hair with it today and it doesn't seem to have left a residue like it has before. my hair is wet right now so we'll see how it feels when it dries.
Hmm, i live in germany and ordered dr bronners magic soap from the UK

cool i wish i got the same products over here!
Yeah, go for it!
think your on the right path
I'm vegetarian for a year and also quit drinking alcohol for half a year and not only my body and
health situation got way better. Like a ton dropped of my mind cause i'm not supporting the meat
industry any more for treatin animals in a very bad way. My thought are free and sharp now cause alcohol and drugs don't blend my view any more.
Tryin to get away from high amount of plastic, cause its ruining the environment in a bad way.
So stay clean and think clear!
Yeah, tried BS wash today for the first time. Used 3 or 4 tablespoons bs in 3/4 liter of water and added a couple of oil drops.
Before i used Dr bronners liquid soap every 4th day and i noticed some of my root sections were little sticky and a bit of residue was still left on my scalp, even with nice and soft water we have here.
After the f i r s t bs wash this morning, no residue was left at all and the sticky, oily root section of some dreads have become nicely clean and totally dry )
So i def will keep on washing my head with bs and use the rest of dr bronners for cleaning my body in
the shower.
cool, cool stuff this little white powder!
No, no bands anymore. Tool em all out during month 2 und will never put in again any.
My hair is holding together very well without those bands.
Yeah, you're right, i'm also kind of impatient. But i guess this is exactly our goal
we're heading for.
I can imagine now, why people with dreads love their hair that much!
Hey all!
I'm goin with the T&R metod, too and i'm also around week 7.
My hair is still a little short, but the formed locs by t&r are at least not falling apart.
But i must confess, that i reopened 2 locs at front, cause they didn't look
natural and i splitted a couple in half at the back, cause they were very thick and
seemed not to fit together very well.
In general i'm pleased with t&r. The ones i reopened, i let dread all natural by now, the
rest makes good progress.
The dreads at the back mature faster, cause of the movent while sleeping on.
This causes more knots and tightens the dread faster than at the front.
So all we need is patientce, we're on a good way!
Frank
So here we go, my dreads are 6 Month old!
I Still wash with bs/acv but quit the seasalt, cause it dries out my scalp a little too much
and i have time anyway...
so here are the newest pics taken this morning right after bs/acv wash
I really enjoy that my hair is getting longer and the dreads getting tighter...
Jah bless our journey!
