that's going to dread interestingly

try not to mess with it much and even though it appears to make progress in 3 days the shortness of it might mean it will take a couple more months of growth and messiness before actual dreads form

yes taking them out doies take a long time ..the longer the better though rushing it too fast can be damaging being gentle takes longer but is healthier

just use more then enough conditioners or oils to loosen them up make the hair slippery and easy to untangle

they are coming along good and this section was always very popular and active ..not as much recently wich sux so good to see your getting it going again

shampoos

some use certain lush bars successfully though i can't say wich ones

though 1 member wrote to lush, and the president of the company wrote back.. saying that technically no lush bars are dread safe.

that hasn't stopped some people from using them but theres only a few without sls in them, and fewer still that maybe low residue and low conditioning

i only mention them cause of the high availability there

will these dreads grow out?

Help! Save My Dreads

mature isn't measured by texture nor by tightness but by when they stop changing so much ...and are growing well past the shrinking stage

how old are they

if they are not into the 2nd year then your concerns are extremely premature

any crocheting may delay maturity

they will grow they  have to grow but they can't grow till they finish shrinking

crocheted dreads just take longer to dread and stay stiff for years

all dreads shrink before they grow..you will never see growth before the 2nd year

Introduce Yourself

well for a month that's not too bad of progress the shampoo you use though might  make a diference

there are no dumb questions only questions that have been asked a million time s already haha so go on list out all your questions and i'll answer them all (so will others)

(if you use the numbered list button to number the questions it will help..if there are indeed a lot of them)

hello

Introduce Yourself

absolutely not if your helping with the frizz then your  preventing it from dreading

the roots tighten as they mature, they will loosen a lot before tightening

forced tightening of the roots can even cause balding

read the dreaducation page thoroughly

you want nothing but a dread shampoo and toi give them time they will do it all on their own
