its not that expensive and smells awesome id reallly recomend u at least try it
u can use scented oils but they are oily and may buildup or prevent progress (slightly)
i would absolutelu recomend the shampoo over dawn

beads ive left in for 5 years till they fell out on thier own (beads over an inch in length may cause mold inside the beads tho) embroidery thread or hemps fine for years as well i would not use yarn!

they may still thicken up some ..and new growth will form new dreads between them it will look fuller in the 2nd year most likely

bars for mature (or safrican) dreads liquid for young dreads the bars i think are healthier easier to rinse etc but the liquid makes u knot up like crazy
i never really separate my dreads hardly at all l\ast 5 or so years but everytime i use the liquid (like today couldsnt find the bars) i have to separate most of them

the ribber bands should not have been in for more then a day or 2 they must come out theres no fuxing the damage caused just make sure u get every peice of rubber band out they can cause a dozen diferent serous problems
