New TnR dreads! And a hello from a newcomer x

Dreadlock Picture Gallery

This is exactly what I did with mine! Yours are looking great.I'm from England too - Lush do really good shampoo bars that are great for dreads. I emailed them to check they were non-residue & al but 2 are. I just got one called Jumping Juniper which has lemon & rosemary oils in too & have to say it's amazing! My dreads are only 9 days old & already full of knots. The shampoo definitely made them knot a little more & feel a bit coarser.I'll stop on about the shampoo now before I sound like an advert, lol!Where in England are you? I'm in Rotherham, near Sheffield

Hi Sourabh! I'm a newbie too and just as happy as you for finding this site. I don't have much advice as I only did my dreads a few days ago - twist & rip just to start things off as it seems I don't have as much patience as you, lol!Anyway, welcome to the site & happy dreading, or rather happy doing nothing & letting the dreads come to you, lol!Love & Light xxx

Hello Everyone!

Thanks guys! It usually wouldn't be so hard as I'm running around after 2 kids, but they're at Granny's today so what is normally some well appreciated time on my own to work on my degree, is like some kind of mind torture not to mess with my hair, lol!

Ok thanks, I'd better keep my bottle of salt water out of reach for a while!Pics will be on this evening hopefully. If my dreads are loosening/unravelling a bit should I just leave them or should I twist & rip again?

Hello Everyone!

Introduce Yourself

Hi all, I'm new to the site but just wanted to say a quick hello & let you know how pleased I am I found this site.I'm on my 3rd day of having dreads but thanks to this site I've saved myself paying 100 for someone to put wax in my hair. I'd read up about it all on here so when I went to the salon & they suggested wax I didn't bother booking an appointment.Instead I spent most of the following day doing twist & rip (in between keepng my 2 toddlers entertained, lol!).I didn't bother going right to the roots - thought I'd leave that to fate, and make it easier to tie back when I need to - and I've been spraying my dreads with sea salt every now & again. They seem pretty matted but not that tight for now - does this sound about right?I'm just trying my hardest now to stop playing with them all the time!
