My hair literally won't grow!

Help! Save My Dreads

Have lots of water daily and have protein rich food... eggs, poultry whatever.. it does promote hair growth. try massaging your scalp with essential oils like rosemary, lavender, ylang ylang etc... always mix these oils with base oils or water before using them..

Dreads look like they are filled with dirt...

Help! Save My Dreads

Hi Adrian, sorry to hear about that. but dont worry, have faith... now that u have already stopped using the stuff in ur dreads lets try gettin it out.. as taye said earlier u can try the Wax B Gone. there are great reviews about this wax remover product and although the shipping might be expensive, it might well be worth it for getting the wax out of your dreads. u can even try for local stuff that can help u get rid of the wax if u can find any. Go through the 'DREADLOCKS MAINTENANCE' pages here on the site try the 'baking soda deep soda deep cleanse' thereafter. u may really love it.. keep nourishing your scalp with pure essential oils (diluted in base oil or atleast water) and you will be on ur way to have some beautiful, clean n healthy dreadlocks. goodluck bro. peace. :)

SOAP INGREDIENTS?

Dread Accessories

Hello everybody :)

I ran out of my baking soda and im finding it hard to get more this time around. so i am thinkin of using a soap which i have for washing my 10 month old dreadies. I want suggestions though about the credibility of the ingredients for using it on my hair. it seems to be working great for bathing since i have started usin it. It's a Lavender Aromatherapy Shower Bar. it contains lavender oil, tea tree oil and aloe vera. It is transclucent in appearance, its a handcrafted natural soap and doesnt contain sls, urea derivatives pvp/va, parabens, stearalkonium chloride, tea compounds etc.

The ingredients of the soap are-

Soap Base- 80%,

Sorbitol- 5%,

Aloe Vera Gel- 1%,

Sodium PCA,

Merquat +3330,

& Essential oils...

Any suggestions would be very helpful... peace n love :)

Guitar Learner

Introduce Yourself

Hi Butt khan, its great to know that you are so much interested in music n guitar... i love music too n i play a few instruments and i sing a little too. i never took any singing lessons or anything. whatever i sing comes straight from the heart cos i know no other way of singing (i am not trained at all). i can play an acoustic guitar. again.. i never went to any class. but i learnt it by observing, imitating n askin others who could play... i have been takin tabla lesons from a guru who comes to my place to teach me. my suggestion to you would be to take proper lessons from a teacher. yes, the internet can teach u a lot of things... totally agreed... however, the knowledge that u will get, personally from a teacher, will be far more valuable and will stay with u for ever. internet is just a one way traffic.... u cant ask or clarify any doubts from ur side.. in case if u are holding ur guitar in a wrong way, if u are not plucking the strings correctly, the internet cant fix it for u... theres no personal interaction that way. a guru will always share certain small simple tricks and techniques which the internet can never teach u. well, if u just wanna get started and want to learn some of the first basic things hen go ahead n get some starter tips from the internet. i wish i could have helped you with the sites but i know none. :( but hopefully u'll get some suggestions from others here. youtube maybe..? i dont know.. good luck bro... it really is a great decision u have taken and stick with it.. practice really hard. music is something that cleanses ur system n soul... peace :)

Oh and about sleeping...... its not really necessary to wear anything while sleeping. but if u still want to, u can sleep wearin a tam. or u can just sleep on a woolen sweater oer ur pillow (like i do). young dreads may fall apart sometimes when u sleep or just normally on odd days. its normal. just dont bother. :)

Hello there, TnR is NOT real dreads.... when u do TnR you only decide for yourself where u want the sections of your future dreads to be.... Then when u leave these TnR'ed sections alone for months, they loosen up after a few washes and start knotting up to form dreadlocks. you only do this and leave them alone. doing it again means u are resetting ur progress (if any) again to day 1... these TnRed sections HAVE to loosen up in order to form dreadlocks. so it is completely normal.

Glad to know that u wanna start natural now. the best part about this method is there are NO steps involved. when u stop combing ur hair, u start the natural method. Yes your hair will look very messy for the initial part, but slowly as time goes by your scalp will automatically separate itself into sections which will later keep maturing into dreads. this may take a few months but it will surely be a great journey and u will be fascinated to experience the changes in ur hair every week and every month. as the sections form themselves all u have to do is to keep a check on them in case if any of ur sections are combining with other sections to form really fat dreads. if they are combining, u have to rip them apart gently and that is the only maintenace u ever have to do. keep washing your hair 2-3 times a week. just wash n go!!! no combing, no styling, nothing.. just accept whatever your hair does and trust them cos u will have beautiful natural dreads which u will be proud of one day. :) you can read the 'DREADUCATION, DREADING METHODS, DREADLOCKS MAINTENANCE' pages for any further doubts. good luck :)

Washing my dreads

General Questions

Hi bro, i dont know how long your hair is ... well but if it is only as long as it is in your profile picture, you will have to wait a little longer. moreover, you are just 2 weeks in. give your hair a little more time. hardly anything happens in just 2 weeks. in the dreading process, initially in ur journey, its very possible that whatever sections have formed may disappear the next morning after u wake up... or after u wash your hair. its very normal n there is nothing to worry about.

just wash n go... stop lookin at your hair for some time. stop bothering :) as for the dryness, u may try skipping one acv rinse maybe... do 1 wash only with baking soda? see how it goes? that sure wil dry your hair in my opinion.. good luck :)
