Looping in on themselves to shorten root??.

Dread Maintenance

Thanks guys ;-) I have asked before about my roots and thought best left to let them do what they gotta do!! With so many people trying to tell me what I should be doing its difficult not to listen sometimes!!I'm a little worried now cos I've done a couple before asking here arghhhhhhh I hope they sort themselves out.I have noticed at the back on the bottom of my hair line these little ones are really great for dreading themselves my roots are really matted ;-) but are quite flat instead of round........ What do you suggest for that? Or do they eventually round themselves? This site is bloody awesome cheers everyone for advice xx

Looping in on themselves to shorten root??.

Dread Maintenance

So recently I have visited a few friends that have dreads and they swear by looping each dread in on itself when the roots get too long ........ What is everyone else's thoughts on this? Soooooo much dreadication to think of ;-)

To dye dreads or not to dye?

Dread Maintenance

Thanks SE ;-) I thought that may be the case probably best I leave it then x

possible..sure
but theres a risk of it going wrong.always with straifght hair it can too but then u fix iot or cutit..no big deal
with dreads theres more risk as the chems can be stuck in the dread amd not deactivate so continue to bleach and weaken

if its not essential to dye it its probly better not to

To dye dreads or not to dye?

Dread Maintenance

So I have yet another question ....... Before locking my hair I used to have my hair lightened and wondered if it is still possible with dreads in now? Any thoughts would be much appreciated ;-) xx

Ah that may be the problem I don't use Acv after the bs ..... But yes I add lavender to the bs rinse ;-) ........ It's good to know its normal for them to loosen though cheers for advice xbr/>

YOu did twist and rip? Any starter method will fall out, or at least loosen drastically. Completely normal. Starter methods are really to establish sections. Just leave them be, they'll loosen, tighten, lossen, tighten. They'll move around, they'll loop and squiggle and kink and do all sorts of crazy things.
For the itchies, do you use any essential oils or rinse after your wash with apple cider vinegar?
Tea tree, rosemary and lavender are all good oils to use to help with dandruff, flakes and itching. The acv will help your scalps pH balance resent so you don't get overly dry and itchy from the bs rinse.

If you did TnR its is normal.
They will loosen up then tighten right up again in time.
