A fun fact, earlyChristianswere heavily dreaded, James the Just, the first bishop of Jerusalem, was known for having his down to his ankles. In fact holy men have had dreads forever, so maybe just tell your parents you want to get closer to GOD, closer to being who you are at heart.

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health
I believe that thickness in your hair was all the dead hair that would have normally fallen out but instead became part of the dreads. I also don't see why they wouldn't thicken up over time just like they did the first time.

Nope, I wouldn't cut my hair for any amount of money. To me my dreads represent aseparationfrom the society that trades the health of the world and its population, for the depressing dogma that is consumerism. To trade something that I grew and took care for, for some pieces of paper that i'm told has value would be a criminal act in my opinion and would definitely make me ahypocrite.

General Questions
We were all black long ago, and that's probably when dreads first came to be. Since then, they have been worn by kings, gurus,sadhus,and many other proud and possibly holy peoples of all races and denominations. Unfortunately, most ignorant people believe it is strictly theRastafarianhairstyle or even just what all Jamaicans wear (I have been called a Rasta, aJamaicanand even a terrorist by both black and white people). Don't be mad at them, just educate them. As for how one chooses to grow their dreads (or rather grow with their dreads), I believe everyone should grow them how they want regardless of the technique, for when they present their dreads to the world, everyone will see the end result and will be able to read the persons character and beliefs (as far as dreading goes) instantly. That's what i love about dreads, you can't hide who you are, and that's how we should all live, in the open, proud of who and what we are.

I wasn't calling you a name, I was using the term that describes people that go on the internet just to annoy others, try to get them angry and upset because they have nothing better to do with themselves. I however am fully calm and happy, i got beautiful dreads and many friends. I want to see a picture of your dreads however, for you can readily see mine and anyone elses on this site. We have nothing to hide, you?
