Reattatching chopped dreads?

Dread Maintenance

I cut my dreads last june and totally regretted it. They were two years old and I kept them out of sentiment, but now that my hair has started knotting up again, I thought about put the cut ones back in? Once my hair gets a little bit longer and more knotted I could maybe sew the ends together but I don't know if this has worked well for anybody. I'm a little afraid of uneven weight and the idea that they'd keep falling off haha, so I'm conflicted. It would be pretty cool to have my old dreads frankensteined back onto my head though.Tips, ideas suggestions?

Dread Accessories

dang, nice work! I dig your color choices a lot. The one on the farthest left with the blue and orange is very cool.

HELP!!!

Help! Save My Dreads

I'm still a very early dreadling myself but the thing i've learned so far is that you become the dread specialist of your own head, with a lot of time and patience and really just observation and good hygiene . I was gonna crochet my dreads buttt that I hear is not the best(bad) for your hair, so, I would say really the best thing you could do probably is to make sure you get the wax out by washing very carefully, and leave the rest alone so the frizzy broken hairs will either fall away as your hair unties from the crochet ripping and then locks up naturally. good luck and hope I helped some!

greasy feeling creamy coating on my scalp WTF?!

Dread Maintenance

helloo, I am very new with my dreads but if it helps at all; I had the same problem and I was able to take care of it by using peppermint oil...as soon as I added that to my homebrew shamp (teatree, peppermint oil, BS+salt) it seemed to clear things up and got rid of that gross greasy feeling. I also had like minor flakes for a little while but those dissappeared after I added the peppermint oil, and also I like the smell :).

I hope I helped! I'm sure there's better advice already posted, haha

What Made you decide to dread?

General Talk

I started dreading to keep record of how long it has been since the lowest part of my life, and how much I have improved myself and my life since. I like to think as my dreads grow, shrink, unravel, retighten, it will reflect and serve as a reference point to me living my life the way I really want to. plus its like a forest is growing on my head and furthermore dreadlocks are awesome, haha
