Drying your Dreads...

Dread Maintenance

loleia - I never thought about using straighteners... I might try that too, to see if its quicker than hairdrying, as I still have a pair kicking about =]Bene - Sadly the longest I can go without washing my hair is about 4 days so lazy sundays aren't always convenient =[ I agree on the towel bit though, all a normal towel does is keep the hair damp!Lex - Good thought - I used to heat damage my hair whenever I washed it before, so why now should be any different I don't know. Especially as the same thing would be happening if my hair was sat in the sun! Better heat damage than mold for sure!Desirae Rose - A hood dryer would be wonderful! Far more time friendly than the regular hairdryer, however I doubt I will ever see fit to buy one, but agree with the medium heat maximum =]T xx

Drying your Dreads...

Dread Maintenance

Thanks guys! For some reason somewhere along the line I got the impression that hairdryers were baaad. I guess you just gotta use em the right way =] Will look out for a microfibre towel too, I guess the two together would work quite well.I feel left out that I don't know of this shamwow marketing genius... might youtube it later =DThanks again =]T xx

Drying your Dreads...

Dread Maintenance

So, living in the lovely UK at this time of year is not great for going outside with wet hair, especially as 'locs tend to take longer to dry than non-knotty hair.I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas as to how to get them to dry out quicker? The only time I can wash them is when I get home in the evening, and then they're still a little damp by the time I go to bed =/Also, whats wrong with using a hairdryer?T =] xx

My journey, My Way

Introduce Yourself

I feel like I should point out that the very same banner that says 'product free dreads' also says 'dreadlock methods'... plural... more than one =]This site is a very good source of information, and its up to the people who read it as to what they do with that information. They your own dreads at the end of the day, its up to you to choose what is acceptable =] Even though I found this site before dreading, and it warned me of the perils of wax, I still chose to backcomb them to start, because I knew that was right for me. Each to his own xx

My journey, My Way

Introduce Yourself

Welcome =D I'm not a neglecter and I get on just fine here =D I don't use wax or owt, but I did backcomb my dreadies to start. As you say, each to their own =] If everyones journey was exactly the same we'd all be very dull dread heads, and dull we're not ;) xx

Do it =D they'll love having someone different to talk to and I'm sure you can use your charm on them ha =P That said, they won't necessarily be old, and you're likely to meet other creative types there so gotta be a winner!Felted bowls sound ace! For keeping trinkets or those bloody hairclips that I find everywhere in the house when I don't need them, but can't lay my fingers on when I do =DCan you put your cereal in the hemp bowls though!? =PT xx

Wow puff, those are some interesting photos you put up =D would love to see more!Panterra - you reminded me of these guys with the junk sculpture mention. Fascinating story and creations! I also started crocheting yesterday - went to a workshop - and I think it may become addictive. I got told I had '...good tension...' which means that my fingers just hurt after a couple of hours. Hopefully I'll figure it out =DRach - Turtles are amzing! Didn't see it until one of my friends got one... They're fascinating! Could sit and watch Raphael for days =] Felting is something I might like to get into too actually... I love buying stuff like that so why not try doing it myself! Now I have too many ideas, and not enough time, thanks guys =P xx
