Wool tams

Introduce Yourself

i love wool! it stinks in the summer time... but it does help your hair knot a LOT faster. every time i slept in one i felt a difference, and it seems like every time i decide to try locks again i make a new one :)

dreadlock styles for Prom

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

this pic looks super groovy but a lot of work

or something like this

there's another pic i want to find but can't find... the girl has her dreads swirled like in a beehive, but it looks really cool.

twist and rip - roots?

Dreading Methods

ok groovy. i haven't thought much about "doing it right" as i know there is no right way for dreads to form, i just want to make sure they won't fall off or something :)

twist and rip - roots?

Dreading Methods

so lately i have been doing some twisting/ripping of unlocked hair and it is going smashingly, however i have noticed that on some the knots started about an inch below the roots. i don't mind, but is this going to end up being a problem? i've seen people with locks that have locked bits and then straight hair and then locked bits, and it's not an issue except i've heard it makes it weaker, easier for them to fall off etc.

I'm kinda disturbed by how superficial I've become

Life Issues Facing Dreads

brother, if you can dig that there are a million people just like you at least, and on top of that love yourself immensely, you'll be ok. i get what you're saying, i do it too, constantly. i'm quite insecure. but some days i get so exhausted TRYING to BE that i collapse and laugh at myself and then i am just being.

washing hair with only water?!?

Dreading Methods

i've heard of this too, but i could never do it. my head produces so much oil that after a day or two my hair looks limp and greasy. i've tried bathing without soap, etc. and it doesn't remove odors. i wash every 2-3 days with dr. bronners or baking soda water.
