I was wondering if pure organic peppermint oil goes moldy or something? ill dilute it with water and still the next day i wake up smelling something weird om top of the peppermint. It really helps wi

Dread Maintenance

if it is good quality oil(not $2 bottle) it should be fine for ever, the cheaper you pay the less pure it is.

if Baba is right and your getting you hair constantly wet it may be getting a little mouldy(stale wet smell) so try keeping them drier and also put some lavender oil in with the peppermint(in the water not the oil)it's good for mould. i use it all the time for the itches smells and works great.

stinky {mildew?} dreadlocks

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

hiya mate i'm sure here recommends Lavender oil as a mildew/mold "cure" so id search that idea here and maybe do lavender oil rinse and maybe get one of the super absorbent towels like "shamwow" to help wick the water away and dry them quicker.Hope that's some help :)

I have done everything 'wrong' and my dreads are awesome!

Dread Maintenance

absolutely agree Jack, enough with the horror and a bit more tolerance and understanding.

Crochet Dreads to Natural Dread

Dreading Methods

would be good if you could get a picture of an individual dread before it is un-done then show how much is left and how much fell out.

best of luck.

what. the. hell.

General Talk

Nah your not alone. It is very efficient at what it does so from a design perspective I have to applaud.

BUT crochet is damaging and many people will buy this, even set up shop as a loctician that is the danger.

I feel like I'm the only one that thought it was kind of cool.... I mean it supports a horrible method and it sucks people will actually use it but the thought of it was cool...

Fasting?

Dreads and Diets

you can try a five day fruit fast for flushing out your system,a lot easier for carrying on while working, just eat nothing but fresh fruits and drink fruit juice or water and if you can "graze"feed rather than set big meals at specific times.

Sarah Smeester said:

i tried to fast and with media and going to school and seeing people eating at lunch i gave in after 2 days. i feel like im stronger now and i have started to slowly go into a vegan diet. i really think im guna try a fast again and make my own juice because i have a juicer that way i get my veggies not through highly over produced veggetable drinks (: good luck!

John Butler's dread method, can you tell?

Dreading Methods

he cut them because they were becoming the focus of attention on him rather than his music/message.

it was apparently becoming frustrating(?) being introduced as "dreadlock wearing...." rather than "award winning...","talented new...."etc etc.

Lo said:

I still don't understand why he cut them off!!!! I also have to agree all natural :) Ahhh I love John's dreads & music, he is amazinggggg:D

yes almost as if they have used wax on their brain and cant think freely, they need to free themselves from the restrictive "wax" of societys thinking and "dread up"

the locking up process is def a mind opening journey.
