Hello! My introduction!!

Introduce Yourself

Wearing the hat is fine. Just keep pulling your dreadlocks away from each other if you aren't wanting them to combine.

dread beads cause stinky dreads

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I am glad that I don't use bead or hair wraps. Good information though. I will be sure to pass on the information to others if asked about it.

In search for an american dream...

Introduce Yourself

Seriously. If you want to keep a positive outlook on the US, don't live and/or work here. The "Honeymoon period" of moving to another country only last for a short time and then culture shock kicks in.

Has anyone used sun in on there dreads??

Dread Products

Just go outside more often and for longer amounts of time. The sun will lighten your hair on its own. If you want additional help use baking soda, water, and a little bit of salt to wash your hair with.

update.....back to square one

Dread Maintenance

Don't think you will have to start your dreadlocks with twist and rip. Begin with twist and rip because you want a specific size of sectioning and/or a specific number of dreadlocks. My hair is like yours all we need is a little bit of texture. Look into salt water sprays on occasion. If you intend on washing your hair with a mixture of baking soda add a little bit of salt to it and let the mixture set for a little bit before you rinse it out.If you end up just allowing your hair to do its thing you still have control over the size of the sections by pulling them apart. In the end regardless of how you start you are still going to have to let your hair what it is going to do and be patient with yourself.

rectangle sections = flat dreads?

Dread Maintenance

Just pull rectangle dreadlocks in half as the others have mentioned.

Dread Maintenance

If you color your hair don't use baking soda or lemon juice. Baking soda and lemon juice will make your hair color fade faster.

How big does a section have to be for hair to dread

Introduce Yourself

I have one or two that are smaller than half an inch. My thinnest dreadlock is about as wide as a sewing machine needle.
