Greyish powdery locks

General Questions

I wash every third day. And I use arm & hammer pure baking soda . One cup mixed in ten cups water. The distilled water I started using recently after noticing the grey. I do see white residue on the bowl I use for the mix. Haven't done the acv in the last month... Could this help?

Greyish powdery locks

General Questions

No hoodie, normal cotton pillowcase. Funny thing is its just the top ones. At close inspection it's not lint, it's like a powder. My wife thinks its B/S trapped inside.

Greyish powdery locks

General Questions

I'm having this problem lately. Some locs on the top of my head kinda look greyish as if they were powdery or had talc in them. I kind suspected it was the baking soda since I have hard water. Well thing is I've been using bottled purified water with the b/s to wash but still see the grey locks. How can I get that out? Has this happened to anyone else? I want my locks to look clean. Please help.

Nusing job with dreads?

dreads jobs employment issues

Well i'm a veterinary technician. Not the same but similar. People love em. And second, if the dreads are healthy you can always comb them out. It'll take patience and work, but no need to shave.

Dreaming of dreads!

Introduce Yourself

I'm a Christian and a leader at my church. And i'ma dready! I work with youth so it helps me, they find me more accessible than a person in a suit. Anyways I let my hair grow out first for a year and have been dreading for the last 5 months. And yes, it is a very humbling and spiritual experience.

velcro and zips + dreadlings= argh!

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I have a favorite jacket that has Velcro on the collar, I bought some more Velcro at Walmart and simply put a patch of fluffy Velcro over the the hooks of Velcro on the collar. Works for me.

What does having dreads mean to you?

Introduce Yourself

Well I started honestly because I love how locks look. Also cause I love having my hair long but my hair is so curly its hard to maintain. Wasnt really thinking of it s anything spiritual. But that has changed a time has gone by. I have learned patience above all, to love myself as God made me, to love others without judgment and has given me a sense of freedom. I now don't really care about labels or stereotypes. The people who live me know me for who I am and that's what matters. Well, what started offs something shallow has become so profound and deep...with time.

Temporary dye?

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

I was thinking green wraps or patterned wraps and instead of sticking wire in them, you can wrap around them. Something like you do to wrap bonsai trees. And at craft stores you can get chilled wires. This would be a healthier method for your hair. I wouldn't poke holes in my dreads. Just my 2 cents

wearing baby dreads in a ponytail??

Dread Maintenance

I use a shoelace tied really loose to hold my babies back for work. It barely holds them in place putting minimal tension on them. And even like this i've seen slower progress in the front.
