Buying sea salt in bulk

Dread Maintenance

Is sea salt something one should consider? Is it possible to just continue with a good soap and nothing else? I read a lot about backing soda, cidar vinegar and sea salt but I avoid them because I don't know what they're used for in hair or why.

Been towel rubbing for almost 2 months. If I stop, will my hair continue to lock up?

General Questions

It's been a week since a towel has touched my head. I've washed twice in that time and let my hair dry completely natural. Already it looks so much better. I'll hold off on pics until a month or so has passed. I've got some 2 soaps arriving from your store which I'm looking forward to. I've also got a lot of locks that are much tighter than they was before.

Quick question though. Sometimes I feel dreads locking with other dreads. I'm ok with that provided they don't feel too fat for their length. I separate them if they don't feel right to me. What's a recommended thickness to avoid super fat dreads? I quite like the size of soaring eagles. They're spot on.

No idea what to do

General Questions

I've got a few that do this. The crown is the worst area for it for me. And the back of my hair. I think its perfectly normal I just leave them alone.

What do your family think of your dreads?

Life Issues Facing Dreads

Today is the first time my family have seen what I'm doing. I've always wore a hat. They've known I've had long hair but never knew what was under the hat and as I don't visit often it's easy to hide. My brother said "Cut them off!". My Mom is still shocked. And although it's water off a ducks back, it's still not a nice feeling.

My mom is the one that's more shocked. She knows how to do dreads as she did them for my Jamaican stepdad. But because I'm going natural, she sees "natty" locks. Her words. It's hard to explain to her that you can grow dreads naturally perfectly fine.

Ah, yes I see. I was confused because of all the different options but it appears to be different fragrances. I've just ordered one of the liquid, and one of the soap bars. Can't wait till they arrive! For now I'll use a regular shampoo until they get here.

What liquid do you use mones? And yeah I'm the same mine is 3rd day too. Is greasy hair a genetic thing?

I have some vo5 I can use for now. That tends to make the locks silky smooth too. Much smoother than the TJ's.

What about baking soda, and/or cider vinegar. I have that available to hand in the meantime.

I've just taken a look at the site and the products. Lots on there. I can place an order tonight for some bits once my cheque clears. Do you have any recommended products for my type of hair and current stage?

When my hair was straight it would get greasy within 3 days. Not sure if that classes as greasy hair of whether that's normal. Just mentioning incase it's relevant.

Couldn't edit post. But to note the conditioner use is temporary. I ordered a bottle of TJ shampoo from US and it took a month to get here and they sent the conditioner instead of the shampoo. I've got the shampoo on order so I just use the conditioner until it arrives. I read that conditioners are not good for locks but it beats towel rubbing I guess.
