Dread Empire Dreadlock Accelerator

General Talk

Ok Baba, probably wont use it then, may just tip it out and fill the bottle with homemade sea-salt stuff eventually.

And by the way I cut my waxy locks off 9 months ago, lol. Wax free now

Dread Empire Dreadlock Accelerator

General Talk

Now I'm asking about this product because it came with a dread kit I purchased last year when I unfortunately backcombed and waxed. I've learnt from my mistake and am growing neglect dreads. Is this product safe for neglect dreads? I know I can make my own 'dreadlock accelerator' but i'm just thinking I could use it since I have it.
The ingredients list contains:
Purified Aqua
Aloe
Barbadensis Gel (this is the thing that i'm worried about)
Alcohol
Sea Salt
Panthenol (Vitamin B)
Polysorbate 20
Lime oil
Citrus acid
Now I know there has been a post on this before, but nobody mentioned the Barbadensis Gel! What is this stuff and can it build up in my dreads?
My second question is if indeed I can use it, should I use it pre-wash for 2 hours or so then wash (as i've heard not to leave sea salt in your hair for extended amounts of time). Or should I wash and then use it and leave it in? (as it suggests)
Thanks a lot people

Neglect Dreads at 9 Months

General Talk

I shaved my head late 2011/early 2012 after a failed attempt at 'dreadlocking' my hair with Dread HQ products. Since shaving, I neglected my hair and this is the progress at 9 months. I have two dreads forming, which is good considering I still have rather short, fine and straight hair.

Any comments and feedback will be much appreciated

Thanks guys ;)

Neglect and Sea Salt

General Talk

I've been growing neglect dreads since the start of the year now, and been washing a few times a week with the shampoos from dreadlockshampoo.com. Is this all I need to be doing? Is sea salt required or only if your using the baking soda wash?

Thanks a lot guys

9 month old neglect dreads

General Talk

Hi all! It is around 9 months now since I shaved my waxy locks off and started neglecting my short hair.

My progress so far is on another forum, but will post it here when I have time.

If you would be so kind, could you look at my progress and tell me if this is where I should be at? If everything is fine even though my back one is really flat? Will this round out?

Thanks a lot guys, been awhile since i've posted here.

Neglect Method & Bar Shampoo

General Questions

Greetings!
I have been wondering if there is any harm using a Shampoo Bar whilst starting out on the neglect method. Will the rubbing of the bar on your hair disturb the process or will it help? Any thoughts are much appreciated!
