Welcome. In case you haven't heard it before, palm rolling isn't worth it. If you don't do it much it doesn't actually create lasting knots. It does clean them up for a few hours, but once you sleep it just goes back to normal. If you do it enough to see progress, it will do sever damage to your roots
Welcome to the site Hanna. Sounds like your well on your way. No need to sleep with a scarf though, when you sleep, dread/sections do the most knotting from the tossing & turning, so let em be free & loose in bed.
