Welcome Tiffany. Your profile says you don't have dreads but want to start by Twist & Rip? Before you start any dreading, like Hippie Love says, read the dreaducation tab at the top of the page. You will learn about all different methods & their pros and cons. You will also learn about maintenance, like washing & scalp care. For healthy locks, never use wax of any kind, nor rubber bands, never use crochet hooks or palm roll. All of these are damaging to dreads. What ever method you decide to go with, let your hair separate naturally for two weeks, this is where the dreads choose to be.
Enjoy your journey, you came to the right place to learn all about healthy dreads. Peace
