welcome but skip the lemon juice it seeps into the inner layer of the hair shaft and breaks it down from the inside slowly

Welcome to the community for healthy dreads Tif and to the best dread site on the web. Lemon juice will dry out your hair! Here is a posting for information on Lush bars and dreads: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/don-t-use-lush-products-on-dreads?xg_source=activity

You are four months into your journey, there are timelines from other members on here to see. You can even post you pics to show other members who are just starting their journey. Use the search bar near the top left to type in any key words..like TIMELINE 4 MONTHS..or 1 YEAR...etc., you can look up anything here. .Play around and enjoy the site...Peace

Welcome. Don't bother palm rolling. it only does 1 of 2 things. If you don't do it much, it does nothing to create lasting knots. It only makes them look neat for a few hours. But once you wash, or sleep, they go back to looking like they did before. There are plenty of other things you can do with your hands, that are more useful.

If you do it enough to see any progress, it is severely destroying your roots. I palm rolled daily for the first 2 weeks, and 7 years later I am still trying to fix the damage:

As for the bands, they are terrible for locks. Bands are elastic, so even if you put them in loosely, they squeeze your locks too tight. This causes weak spots to forms. Eventually they can get weak enough that your locks can snap. Also, bands tend to get sucked into your locks. There, they begin to dry rot, which will cause mold/mildew to grow in your hair
