Welcome. I've got to warn you about palm rolling, though. I know a lot of people out there will tell you it's great. It's not. if you don't do it often, it doesn't create lasting knots. It only makes your hair look a bit neater for a few hours. But after you sleep or wash it, all that effort you put into it is gone back to the way it was before. If you do do it enough to see progress, it will severely destroy your locks. But unlike crocheting and interlocking, the damage from palm rolling doesn't show up for about a year. As your locks grow out, you will start to notice that your roots are thinner than the lock is, and that they feel week. the more you palm roll the weaker your roots get. Tak it from someone who palm rolled daily for just 2 weeks. 6 years later I am still trying to fix the damage.
i used teatee brinners so only added rosemary id add it to the big bottle b4 diluting mayn=be 50 drops art a guess then dilute if i was itchy or flakey id add a few motre to the diluted nbatch
Get some sea salt from a pet store. Mix a batch so that it's 3.5% salt to water. About 1-2 hours before you wash, spray it on your hair and let it soak. Then wash it off when you wash. This helps your hair lock a bit faster, without damaging it.
Wash 2-3 times a week. But depending on your water hardness, you need to be careful what soap you use. Dr. Bronners and the BS/ACV wash don't work well in hard water.
Don't worry about wearing a tam or anything. Hair locks up so much better when it hangs loose.
I'm sure you know about all of these things, but I figured I'd get some advice.
Oh, and NEVER palm roll. Trust me from experience. It only does 1 of 2 things. If you don't do it much, it doesn't help create any lasting knots. It only makes them look neater for a few hours. If you do it enough to see progress, it will severely damage your roots. I did it, daily, for my first 2 weeks. 6 years later I am still trying to fix the damage.
If you start washing your hair, now, like you already have locks, it will begin to sections itself out for when you want to TnR. From there you can decide how big you want your sections. Over 1 inch sections will be a pain to dry. But if you want super fat locks, I can give you some good tips on ho to dry them well and quickl
