Welcome. Never go to a salon if you want locks. Salons will destroy locks. It's not always their fault. They just know nothing about how to grow healthy locks. Even those places that say they specialize in locks. They specialize in wax and damaging methods.

All you need to do is wash 2-3 times a week with a residue free shampoo and separate your hair so the sections don' congo. If wax as used in your coils, wash it all out. Wax will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. You need a detergent and at least a week of aggressive washing to get it out.
