Welcome to the community Jennifer. Glad you found us only 3 days into your journey. Everything can be found on here to learn how to maintain dreads the healthy way. Enjoy the site. ...Peace

Below is a map to show your water type. With soft water, any dread or shampoo bar will work, but with hard water, most of them do not, they leave behind a residue...need a fantastic shampoo? www.dreadlockshampoo.com...the best for all water types....

Welcome. It's good that you stopped waxing. But unfortunately, that's not enough. Wax is a hydrocarbon, which means that it is essentially waterproof. It will stay in your locks for decades, no matter how much hot water and normal soap you use. In order to get out wax, you need a good detergent, and weeks of scrubbing 2-3 times a week.

Welcome. I love that you live in a tipi. I have been wanting to put one together for when my wife and I go camping. It seems like they'd be great to live in. How did you set yours up?

hey annie namaste! i have not been on this site for ages it has changes .... well i am still on fb and etsy but not on the net much you got me a ta perfect time i was on when your message came to my inbox via notifications. i really think of you often and i cant explain here the multitude of mess i am in with my lttle ashram in india right now - monsoons, theives, cheating contractor, students who need sponsors for shcool, lease negotiations since our guru died and i am in charge of this whole big mess where internet is at the jurassic level and people have more cell phones than toilets in this town so internet is rare enough and expensive. but our exisitence depends on donations so it is very necessary. http://www.narmadainterfaith.org compare that to this photo im attaching of this morning...
