judgement in early stages

Introduce Yourself

I totally understand.... I went to a yoga class on Monday and this girl behind me kept on telling her friend she was smelling a'dirty' smell in class. And that she couldn't breathe. I just shook it off. I know my dreads aren't dirty. But, they look super messy with only 40 days into it and mostly neglect I look like I have a nest on my head :)

People always assume I am a pothead but, I am the total opposite I don't smoke at all....Oh well, one of my friends always tells me to leave the judgers alone and let them wallow in their own self ingnorance LOL!

Question about roots...

Dread Maintenance

So I just started my dreads about a month and a half ago. My husband tnr just a bit and then I have left them. We tried not to do even sections. I have noticed that the back of my head some of the sectioned have split at the root. Question is should I just leave it and let them just do there thing? There is a knot beyond the "split" area so I don't want to take it apart.... Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I think they look great! Have you ever tried using cotton yarn? I would love one but, I think that wool would be too hot in Florida :)

Homeschool/unschool folks?

dready interests

O.k. I thought that I posted this but, I don't think it went though.... So of the first things I read were John Holt and Daniel Quinn. There is also a book called the Unschool Unmanual that is pretty cool.... We have loved our journey so far :)

I think that if you want them do it!My family wasn't super excited about me getting dreads in the end it's my body and I should be able to do what I want with it... And after I started they got used to it quick:)

I am a stay at home mom that unschools my son.And sometimes some of the other moms in my homeschool group don't get it. But, those are the people I don't want to hang out with anyway. True friends will stick by you no matter what.
