I've known of people hiding hand cuff keys in dreads long enough to reach if handcuffed...

I was going to put some of my dog's fur in it...but...then I realized that when dog hair gets wet...it smells like wet dog...and...

I don't wanna smell like wet dog when my hair is wet...

I can't keep the cat hair out...we sleep cuddled up...

It really is cool all that people put in their hair. One of the wonderful things about dreads.

Someone I ran into.....somewhere...mighta been a coffee shop in a city I was driving through at one point...or...

I decide to just leave sometimes...and see where I go...anyway...

The lady had wove in a few of her daughter's locks into her hair...her daughter had passed away and during the radiation treatments her hair fell out...so...she has her daughter part of her...always this way.

but...anything really is game I'm sure...it's just another part of you to decorate.

even if it's just to decorate for the day or occasion and not to be removed!

I honestly don't know what my personal limit would be.

I have just one bead...and it gets smacked around...

it may need a new home..

lucky it was tied away when I accidentally smacked my last bf with my pony tail...slapped him across the face with my hair...hahaha

First off I'm going to tell you that if this was the first time you washed them in 3 weeks and you have the sort of job that you do....they must have been pretty nasty!

You should be washing it more along the lines of 2-3 times a week...other people might tell you more....

That's not what you were asking....but I'm sure that is part of your boss's problem! I always know if I can smell my hair...others just might be able to.

I always tied my hair back in a pony tail if I wanted it to be more presentable.

In a few hours when others are waking up...they will have better advise for you. Mostly...I just want to say is...wash your hair WAY more!

Min wage is impossible to live on unless you combine multiple?e families in one household and share childcare responsibilities. Many my age do it. Just to get by!Seriously. I never blamed the rich for my problems. I just would like the rich to pay the same percentage of their income as I do in taxes. That would be nice. It doesn't matter as much to them as it does to me. Oh...they'd have to have one less vacation a year. Less would get stuck in their massive bank account. They'd have to cut back to a new car every TWO years instead of every year.

Sucks to be them in that case.

Well...lets see...I'm poor because my family was poor...and because it seems no matter how I try...things just cost money to get yourself into a better spot...or just luck...

A lot of hard work...which I've tried too...but...

it just seems someone has better access to resources than I do.

While I was in college I had to work to have extras as I paid rent and bills and whatever.

This meant I had less time to spend on homework....

Than that person who didn't have to work and lived on their parents bill.

That person also had their college paid for by their parents...

We both graduate...and they get the job...because their grades were just a point or two higher than me...

they had time for that extra volunteer work that I couldn't do to get experience because I was busy trying to get a pay check so I could EAT.

Romney can suck a big fat donkey dick. Oh...and I'd like to see him try and live on a minimum wage job that he serves the public. Say...Burger king for..say...6 months. Have him try and pay the bills...buy food...and put up with people thinking they are better than you because you work in a job that "serves" them.

It does matter who is president. Actually...that visualization of Romney in that sort of social experiment is greatly amusing. love it!

The idea of a self sufficient community is not a bad idea....but....soooo hard when we are used to all our fancy imported stuff.

It's interesting that is all was gotten from what I said...

that I was complaining my car was too old. Or...that a person is now paying for health insurance.

I wasn't complaining...I was saying when changes happen like that...when you don't HAVE any money...what happens?!

The rest of what you said...sounded like a bunch of words strung together...that...my eyes fuzzed out as I tried reading them.

I'm a single mom. Yes...this means I'm on Government assistance. I am SO thankful for this.

HOWEVER! I have been working since I was 16...paying into this...I am 29 now...and my baby just turned 6 months...I have ALWAYS had a job since then. That means I have been paying taxes you see...

I went to college...I have a bachelors degree. You know what...that means nothing right now...and I get sick of people telling me to suck it up. I still make minimum wage...

I pay out my ass in student loan debt...

I can't afford to buy a car right now...which would create access to a better job for me.

Do you see where I'm going with this? or...will you just pull out some other quip?

I don't feel guilty for using gov asst right now. It's not like I'm going to be a lifetime "charity" case you some like to call it.

It's a helping hand until I am able to FINALLY get to where I need to go. But...when you don't make much money...saving is a SLOW and long process...then...if something comes up...an emergency...

oops...all my savings for a car or whatever....gone...sorry...you start over. "Go straight to broke...don't pass Go...do not collect 200 dollars."

It's amazing that people want to turn a blind eye to poverty...and take it as complaints.

Yeah...it sucks. But...SOMETHING needs to be done about it...and hell if it's going to be a president who doesn't care about 47% of the country he's supposed to run!

I noticed that part of my little rant was clunky...

We want to vote people in that will best represent how you would vote and see things.

Someone who shares a core belief value with you. Belief doesn't have to be religious here!

Really...those are the best choices...because they will move causes they believe strongly in in front of others.

Whatever it's called when they get all the proper law stuff down with before it gets sent to the next level.

Romney scares me too...a republican "friend" tried telling me that he only said the comment about the 47 % was just him doing ihis job at the time...

That he was trying to get campaign money. But...he didn't actually "mean" the comment.

So..yeah...cutting governmental assistance programs so that they can cut taxes...is a REALLY dumb idea...

This will create just ANOTHER group of people to be affected by all this economic stuff...

Just in this last month a friend of mine who lives on an SSI fixed income in another state got her check...and...it was 100 dollars less than it normally is...

When you are on FIXED income...100 bucks is a ton of money...or...just a ton of money PERIOD!

Turns out...it was taken because in the state she lives in...she's now paying 100 bucks a month for her medicare. Wow...I try to think how I would cut expenses by 100 bucks...many "extras" we have you sign up for with contracts. So it's not so easy to just get rid of cable, internet, or cell phone bills as expenses...

We do have people who rely on getting government assistance to survive. Many of these programs have changed by setting up a time limit on how long or how many times you can receive it. Those that advocate for and run them really do want to use them as a means to help people get a helping hand. I've called them a "step up." I know not everyone sees them the same way...they just want free money..they cheat...they lie...they steal...that can be debated and debated about...we'll always have these people.

What I'm concerned about is what the effect of cutting money out of someone's budget like they did my friend...how big is this group of people going to be...on what program...

I wonder how people are going to compensate for this?

When you have nothing to begin with...and you just take some of that nothing that you have away...

These people usually have very little...if anything in savings...

They drive cars that are older and less reliable...

Selling things only produces money from a one time transaction. That item is now gone.

I guess instead of getting long winded...that's the only answer I need of WHY i'm not gonna vote for that politician who I wish would have to live just...6 months...like I do.

I'd be interesting to start a protest campaign that we tried to round people up to send post cards in...with one simple reason...why they won't vote for him...

Have you read a book called "Nickled and Dimed"? It's written by Barbara Ehrenreich.

It's a non-fiction book of research she does...to "walk in the shoes of those people who work min wage jobs." She sets out...with a small amount of money...like...small small...a suit case with some clothing and belongings...no car...non of her degrees....non of the "cushions" she has to fall back on if anything ever went unexpectedly..

She uses a different identity..and tries to see what happens...
Pretty well done and written book.

Her book even inspired a documentary by the same people who did super size me....

Things got so bad that for health reasons they had to give up!

Health is one of the issues here in the cutting of funding...

An unhealthy and poor population can only hold up an oversized middle class and rich class for so long...
