Wax Removal!?

Help! Save My Dreads

ive had " dreads " for almost 8 months, washed every week with BS, ACV and oils, i used wax about 6 or 7 times in the beginning weeks. I believed most of the wax had washed out but i could feel that in some dreads that it was still there, i believed they were still dreading in places but in others it wasnt. After advice from this site i thought i would try and remove it. I filled up my sink with very hot water and put all my hair in it for about 10 minutes. I was then going to scrub it out with dawn dish soap, however i could split a dreadlock so easily they pretty much fell apart. I decided to comb out all my dreadlocks but a few which i never used wax on. My hair isn't in that bad of a condition and im most certainly going to start a new set. i havent lost to much hair either. It was disgusting the amount of wax that came out and i can only thank this website for giving me the advice, all the loose hair that came out from combing it i could pretty much palmroll and the hair would stick together, disgusting!

It seemed that my hair was just stuck together rather than dreading, so glad its now out and i can start a new, clean set of dreadlocks . sucks that i used wax in the first place but learnt my lesson, shame i had "dreads" for 8 months that made barely any progress :/

Loose Hair

General Questions

I have quite alot of loose hair, im not actually to bothered about it but more curious as what its likely to do. Most of the loose hair is around the back of head and the sides, the hair is longer than 3 inches and there are some parts on my head where there is quite a bit of hair that could turn into a dread but most likely a very skinny one. should i just leave the loose hair and what should i expect it to do?

Dread Maintenance

I found a lavendar blossom herbal soap in my local organic shop and wanted to check if it would be alright to use to wash my dreads. Below is a list of the ingredients;

Sodium palmate

Sodium palmkernalate

Aqua

Sodium Chloride

Glycerin

Lavendar officinalis

Rosemarinus officinalis

Titanium dioxide

Reckon it's safe to use on my dreads?

Helloo! help on what to do!

Introduce Yourself

Hey, ive had dread for two months now with a current total of 36 dreads, they were done by backcombing and crocheting by a good friend, since then i have crocheted loose hair about once a week; normally after they have dried from washing them. i have used wax several times but unfortunatly did not find this website as of recently. I would love to start again and go natural. hopefully sometime in the future.

As of now ive decided to stop crocheting them and waxing them. however i do want to try rid my hair of the horrible wax, i never over waxed and used minimal but after seeing pictures of wax being in dreadlocks for years i would rather try get as much wax as i can out, i dont want to cut them off and start again and ive seen many different methods of getting wax out. I was thinking of trying the apple cider vinegar to help with the wax removal but i dont know to much on it and was wondering if anyone had any past experience or could offer any other suggestions to get the wax out. Bear in mind im very skint and dont want to spend to much money.

there is a picture of how my dreads look at two months and also my crazy tie die experiment =)

thank you !! =)
