Going for freshly retwisted look...need help

Dreading Methods

I've almost cut my hair I dont know how many times, and I'm trying hard to get my hair to dread. Its been since march, and my hair just isnt dreading yet. I think interlocking it was a BAD idea when I started them. I just hate the AFRO with locks coming out of it look. How can I keep my hair so you can see the parts and such all the time. I dnt want a fuzz ball with dreads coming out of it. I want my hair looking neat and fresh all the time. I want to stop using wax, but nothing else keeps my hair neat. Its thick afro-centric hair , that is more wavy then curly.

Any ideas on how I can keep it looking freshly done all the time without wax ?

Can interlocked dreads actually dread

Dread Maintenance

so the ends of my dreads. the first 5 inches have been interlocked long before i knew it wasnt good. My hair is about 6inches long now and at about 6 months, and its still not locking up. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG ??

will the interlocked stuff ever lock up...smh. this wait for the process is killing me. I dunno if I can wait 2 years for locks. im tempted to cut it all off again.

Really tempted to interlock my hair...

Life Issues Facing Dreads

well my dreads were started using the interlock method on feb 27 this year...and i realize that i am having a difficult time keeping them as neat as i want them to be. I want my dreads to look mature and acceptable to my higher end clientel. I was told again today that my hair is nasty...and its quite fuzzy. I think i might just go interlock it to tighten it up and to make it much more neat. I hate that most of americadoesn'tunderstand the months and months it takes to get perfect dreads..and that NOT all dreads can look like someone who's had them for years. I just id unno. This is kind of a hard journey for me..I want nice dreads sooo bad...but i just dont know if its in me to let my hair stay messy and for me to lose money. Sad day...i actually might just cut my hair off altogether when i wake up. :( Sorry this is a rant....just really frustrated with my hair today...wish it looked professional and perfectly maintained.

Side note: Gf accused me of cheating today..again...I'm a photographer and deal with beautiful women but I NEVER cheat with them. Today was terrible..hope the next few days are better.

Maintenance question about baby dreads

Dread Maintenance

I guess first off I need to clarify that I'm in week 9 of my dread journey and my hair is CRAZY messy and pieces are growing together slightly. I havent gotten a twist in about 5 weeks or so, as I have read on here and now my hair is to the point where my employer is saying something about it. I know its time to tidy them up a bit. I also am aware that twisting them really doesnt do anything for them but make them look neater. I guess my question is can I twist them with some vitamin E and some basic gel to help them stay a little neater? I honestly have even thought about latching them to help them stay neat.

Where do I go from here to keep them neat and properly headed towards dreading? I know I probably still have a long way to go..I wish I had a roadmap to perfect dreads. I guess part of the beauty is in the unknown.

My dreads wont lay down...

Dreading Methods

Hey, I wash about once every 3-4 weeks. I havent ever conditioned them asI was told new dreads shouldn't be conditioned till they start to lock really well.
