Dread Maintenance Occurance - Honest Usage on this Site

Dread Maintenance

Just my curiosity, after browsing members' pictures...who on here really truly uses NO maintenance other than washing and separating?

Unblunting tips?

Dread Maintenance

Hey everyone. So, I started my dreads w backcombing in November 2010. I pulled the tips in with the DHHQ loose hair tool whilst still under KJC's spell in maybe December? I thought that was the thing to do with loose ends. Now I know better, and I would like to unblunt them. What is the best/least damaging way to do this?

Knotted Dreadlock Wraps - How Do You Make Them?

Dread Accessories

I will look for that, and see if I can figure out how to do it around the dread. It would be great if somebody would put up a good one!!

Dreads with layered hair?

Introduce Yourself

Mine was similar to that before I backcombed it. The pic I have up is old, dreads were just a week or two then. As they are maturing (about four and a half months now) they are shrinking up, and the layers are still apparent. Looks pretty cool to me!

Dread Products

I used clove with eucalyptus and lavender today in my acv rinse, and so far it not only smells incredible, it seems to have helped my dry winter scalp itches!!

Jobs and dreads.

Life Issues Facing Dreads

I'm a registered nurse, work in an icu full time and also a little part time in a cardiac observation unit at a different hospital. I'd been employed both places for several years and I didn't ask permission before dreading, just took off on it. Answer questions as they arise. I wear headbands and keep the back up in a big clip, and I continue to give my patients the best care I'm able to give. So far, no real negativity has arisen, and it's been four months. Good luck to you!!

Jobs and dreads.

Life Issues Facing Dreads

You have two options, in my opinion. The first is to abandon your dread journey for now in lieu of your more pressing need to earn money for your trip. Or, and I like this one better, you keep dreading, keep your hair as neat as is within reason, and really shine in customer service/politeness/initiative/going the extra mile, etc. You may be just a cart getter and bag boy, but you can be the best they've ever employed, and make em totally overlook your hair with stellar performance. Plus, doing your best even in menial jobs is a great exercise in building character. I hope both your job and your dreads work out well, good luck to you!!!

any thing for itchy scalp?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Tried adding clove essential oil to my acv rinse today, and so far it has helped my dry winter scalp itches a lot! Clove is a natural anesthetic/antiseptic, so it kinda makes sense.
