Will wearing a hat (not wool) speed up or slow down the dreading process?

General Questions

Ok so I have a hat that isn't wool and I wear it when I sleep and when I am in my house and when I go outside, but I take it off when I am in school (8:00 to 3:00) so will that stop the natural dreading process???

I wash with baking soda and water btw

When Washing for Neglect Dreadlocks Help PLEASE

General Questions

Ok so I was watching this guy talk about his neglect dreadlocks and he said that If you wash your hair while rubbing it in it's natural spiral pattern and then rub it in its natural pattern while drying it with a towel that your hair will lock up quicker. I have straight hair and I was wondering if that would stop my hair from dreading or if it will slow down the process of dreading if I did what the guy said. I use Dr. Bronner's.

Will rubbing head clockwise or counterclockwise help the neglect dreading process???

General Talk

Will rubbing my head cancel out already made progress??

it will cause knots to form but its really not worth the time you would have to rub daily and several times a day to even see mediocre results unless you have really dry hair then it might work better.

Dread Maintenance

wax is bad but if you don't want your mother to feel bad, then just don't wax anymore dreads. if your mother doesn't mind, then comb them out, wash the wax out, and start over

General Questions

Oh and HOW DO I DRY IT??? I heard that patting my hair with a towel works, and then letting it airdry. BUt that makes my hair look a bit oily so I would like to towel dry it completely and if you know a way to towel dry it without taking the knots out that would be wonderful

General Questions

Should I stop running my head in the water but not washing it everyday??
soaringeagle said:
wash 1 day less every week switch to the baking soda acv (recomended but still optional its your choice but i believe its a good 1)
so instead of every other day do every 3 days
then if u adjust and can try every 4
no need to go beyond every 3-4 though
