Proof of the dangers..make jonny cut his dreads?

General Questions

I totally agree with this.If he is so sure that his wax doesn't damage dreads and doesn't leave a build up, then why can't he prove it? Like Paula said, he's cut dreads off before and reattached them to promote one of his many 'tools' so surely he can do it again and try and save some face. The more and more he talks, and the less and less he does to deny our claims, the more he seems like a fraud. He's really not helping his case

There is no harm in using the seasalt spray just now. It'll add some texture to your hair and add in the knotting when you finally take the plunge (:

Boots do a couple of things, but the best one I've found just now is Pantenes new shampoo. I'm sure it's called Aqua Light. It's very good. It leaves no residue behind, but doesn't leave the hair feeling dry and brittle. But again, the BS and ACV rinse is a very good way to go. My hair has never felt so clean and light since I started using that and it's all thanks to this site.Don't use mousse in your hair. Or wax. Anything like that is just holding the hair together and restricting movement so the hair can't form knots without lots of damaging palm rolling.Just pour the baking soda over your hair and let it sit for a while. Then rinse it out. A great tip that SE always gives is if you think you've got it all out, rinse again

Twist and rip is a good method to start with. It's less damaging than backcombing and gives the dreads a foundation to start with. When you wash them they will loosen up, but that's completely natural and they will start to tighten up again. It's just the way it goes.Have you tried spraying them with sea salt mixed with water? It really does make a huge difference

Hey Marc!Welcome to our family (:I'm really glad you found us and look forward to sharing in your journey with you.My advice would be.. go natural. I myself started with backcombing, but after finding this site wish I had went natural from the start. It's as simple as throwing away your comb, keeping your hair clean and if needed, seperating the dreads so as they don't form congos. Just be sure to use a shampoo that doesn't leave behind any residue. There is a page somewhere on here that explains about the Baking Soda and ACV rinse. And for the bad hair days, all you need to do is stick on a hat and you're good to go!I wish you luck (:.

Introduce Yourself

I'm just outside Glasgow. Hoping to move to the countryside though. Somewhere quiet and full of nature like Aberfoyle (: Adam said:

Ahh another Scottish one! I'm from Scotland to (:

I had extremely oily/greasy hair to start off with because I was so used to washing my hair every day, but I cut it down to every 3rd/4th day and after a couple of wash my hair was a lot better
