Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Noo the creator of the universe made a way for u to not go to hell. Dnt go there! :) but I've actually already used this stuff a few times before.. And not heard from my Gma lol she hates me bleaching my hair. I have already used it once with my dreads too. And I kno it will turn ur hair purple if u leave it too long. But I didn't think about it gettin inside the dread n maybe turnin the inside purple if its not all washed out.. Iono I just found that my hair that's bleached is dreading 20 times better than the rest so im doin all of it. It just fries it but it knots up easier so I dnt mind. I just won't use the shampoo n conditioner this time. :) thanks panterraaaa!

You hit the nail on the head! That is exactly why the older gals are blue haired! Lol Bet Atom got the idea for this stuff from his Grandma too! Ha! When we get to hell are we gonna nap?!!! Lol Alden said:
Oh I'm sure Pan, dreads are like sponges, and from personal experience I know how difficult it can be to color dreads alone. And I've always kinda wondered why old ladies had blue or purple hair, and now I know!!! But then I call most women over the age of 80 'Blue Hairs', lol, I'm sure I'm going to hell!!

I'm goin to use a shampoo n conditioner, just one time, that's meant to take the gold out of my bleached hair n turn it more white. Just wonderin what this does to my hair n if I should do like a deep cleanse afterwards to get any residue out..?

Cleanliness - Dead Skin

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I use the pomegranate one often. I love it!! I absolutely looove the smell of pomegranate and i have no idea if I'm spelling that rite! But it totallys works! It just seems like I have to use way too much to get all of my hair. That's why I'm countin on the maylees. Heard its has like a super duper lather so I can't wait.

Hey Netty, which Burt Bee's one do you use? Netty Mey said:
Oh no! I'm using Dr.b and ive been noticing my hair is looking greasy sometimes after I wash if I don't wash over it with burts bees...its the type of water maybe its leaving residues but STOP taking the skin off! Its not good for ur scalp and its probably causing it to produce even more excessive skin..if u Don't like bs/acv I'd recommend burts bees it leaves no residues and smells awesome. :-)

Do you use Dr. Bronner's? Cuz I noticed a kind of film on my scalp and if I smell it it smells like Dr. Bronner's!

Brand New/DreadMe up

Introduce Yourself

I say braid ur hair up n with each of the three strands used to braid, have them the size u want each dread.. Then take em out in like two weeks n lightly back comb each one n then just go natural from there.. Twist n rips good too tho. I've got one that I twist n ripped n it's stayed quite well. Smaller the better for t&r tho in my opinion. But whatever u wnt should work. Just weigh ur options n I'm sure ull come to a good conclusion. Good luck

Having an off-week, losing confidence

Dreadlock Picture Gallery

Man I feel ya.. I'm only like 3 mnths in but I feel like it should be goin better for me as well.. I did the crochet too n they are good but ur right.. The loose hairs n new growth ain't done anything. Only thing i got goin for me is I bleached my hair n what's bleached is knottin up better so I'm gna do my whole head now. Lol not suggesting u do that cuz new growth still will be the same.. Try puttin a bead at the root of one n see what happens. Just kno I'm in the same boat bro. Good luck

Anyone else? Crochet.. New growth

Dread Maintenance

Aight I ain't gna mess with em.. I like the wraps tho, gives em some color. But I'll take em out n see how it goes. My hair knots up so much easier once it's bleached so I should be good now.

Anyone else? Crochet.. New growth

Dread Maintenance

Well crap.. They dnt gotta match exactly, Im more concerned about the size difference. It's been like a month or so without crocheting. Most of them feel like natural dreads now. Maybe a lil tighter. I just don't want the new growth to be like the complete opposite of my dreads now.. The plan is to just take the wraps out in like a week n let em be.. In another month I'll have over an inch of the new growth I'm talkin about. It just dnt seem like it's gna dread by itself.. But I'm waitin it out.

If you want the texture of the new growth to exactly match your crocheted areas, then yeah, you'll have to keep crocheting. How long ago did you stop the crocheting? You've been trying lots of different things like wrapping, right? You should really just leave them alone for awhile and let the new growth settle. It needs time to merge with the crocheted portions. Once it settles in, you'll probably find there's nothing that needs "fixing".

Anyone else? Crochet.. New growth

Dread Maintenance

Anyone else start out with crochet n then let em go natural? I'm just wonderin how my new growth is gna turn out..? Cuz my dreads are less than half the size of my sections but now that the new growth is comin (n not dreading) it's like completely different than my dreads started with crochet. I just wna kno if I'm gna have like fat new growth dreads with skinny n tighter ends? Cuz that wouldn't look good. Or is the only way to keep it lookin good to keep crocheting.? Anyone else have this problem or been thru it? Any advice..?
