Perhaps it's due to the looming job interview I have set for this Thursday but I'm feeling decidedly self-conscious about my locks.. I've been freelancing by myself (as a computer programmer) since putting dreads in so have had no issues with employers, but now I'm looking for supplemental part time work. I'm targeting not-for-profit/NGO/charity organisations to stay far away from pure corporate jobs, hopefully their views on dreadlocks are as liberal as i assume.I started my dreads via crochet method in Bangkok, but have since left them completely alone save for regular washing (2-3 times a week) with either BS/ACV or Dr.Bronners.I am 6 months in.My hair is thick, straight, and there is a LOT of it. Not great combination for locking i guess but i would've thought I'd have progressed more than I have. The dreads that were started by force have continued to form and are very tight, i have no problem with my actual dreads, it's the hair that is all over the place, either having come out of other dreads or new growth. There is SO much of it and there doesn't appear to be ANY sign of hair either being sucked into other dreads or forming new ones on their own.I see pictures and testimonials of people who's hair apparently starts to dread naturally within weeks, so why after 6 months do i still have long straight tufts of hair all over my head, almost outweighing the actual dreads... I'm trying to be as patient as i can, but surely there should be progress towards dreads even if it's slow. My dreads themselves are maturing nicely, but i seem to just be acquiring more and more undreaded hair which masks this progress.:(

Having an off-week, losing confidence
For your hair type I think you've got some good progress going, I know it's been 6 months, but everyone's journey will vary in time. Get yourself a wool sweater to put over your pillow at night, it'll really help and I bet you notice more development with in a week or two.As far as fuzzies go, the longer your hair grow, the less they'll stick out, it'll all come together, just try not to stress yourself, every one of us has been there and done that, it's hard, but practice patience and self control and you'll feel very fulfilled when you're done.
