u can at 3 but 4 works better
and just make the root section size as thick as u want the dread the dread u make will be much thinner but will get thicker over time
another thing abvout ceoxchet is they will come out 1/2 kor even 1/3 as thick ass they should be

slow down your wash cycle washing less u get less oily use esea salt sprays on the hair only not scalp and rinse off after a few hours use thyme tea on the scalp leave it on
ok twist a section split in 2 oull in oposite directions bring back together split again (random places each time in random directions too) pull repeat like 6 times then let go grab again and retwist repeat retwist every 6 or more pulls if u retwist too often it looks braided
u might want to concisder going natural too for nice thick dreads
