Short hair and dreads?

Dreading Methods

thanks i was thinking of using some of my dogs hair at one point and im still thinking about it. i also have some plain wooden beads i was going to decorate every time something cool happened in life.. considering you have to wait for it to grow i would to natural. i would have done it that way but i was to impatient.. but saddly either way you will have to wait... thanks for the colors. its left over purple that got dreaded into a frosty pink

Short hair and dreads?

Dreading Methods

im pretty sure i came in to late to this convo but i have a friend that backcombed her way into a dread hawk and she has stubby dreads.. she had around 4 inches of dried hair. im afraid that when they start to lock and really tighten they will be to nubby and look funny. i had sholder length hair before i back combed and i have a dread right in the back that is 2 inches. i would go with what se has to say

Advice needed!!

Dreading Methods

i am rebellious my parens hated the fact i got dreads. and they still comment on how they are ugly and i was pretty with normal hair. but i dont care.. they love me and i love them it all works. as far as having a few dreads i tried that and i kept having to pick hair out and keep the dread separated from my hair like the dreads got in trouble or something.. id start with going natural it will take long enough by then youll prolly be out of your parents

africa's best herbal oil?

Dread Products

i planned to use a bit on my dreads some on the skin basicly an all over product. my hair is semi fine and the dreads feel kinda wooly. i have used some in my home made lotion already.. but it looked like that oil was best for african hair, and hot oil treatments for that hair type... i might just have to suffice a test dread to find out! tha tron said:
how did you plan on using the product? I would do an oil treatment about once a month and let it soak over night then Id do a super wash the next morning just so that you have the moisture deep in the core of the dread. but, I'm not sure about your specific hair texture

i have been thinking about making my own lotion and other variouis things and when i was at walmart today i ran across this stuff in the ethnic hair isle. it says it works for bath bodyhair and scalp it has all natual extracts . it appears you can use it as a hot oil treatment as well. but i was wondering if anyone has had experiance with this product it was only two bucks for a 8 oz. bottle.

General Talk

i just thought i would ranbt and rave about how happy i am that i got my dreads. its changed alot of things for the better, for instance i have a veggie garden now. and im learning how to make my own stuff thats eco and natural. like my shampoo. it just feels good getting in touch with the natural side of things. does any body else have stories like mine?
