Dreds

Introduce Yourself

just clean your hair and dont comb it make sure that it stays clean and just dont run your fingers through it and leave it alone and it will start to create tangles then just seperate thems and leave those alone and then the rest of it will start to do it as well... wearing a wool hat or a tam will help... how long is your hair?

Hey All

Introduce Yourself

well right now your hair isnt that long but i would say if your gonna use the "body soap" look up the ingredients that are in it and see if your willing to have those festering in your dreadlocks... also baking soda and vinegar are very cheap but i wouldnt worry about getting those until the dreads start to form... and about playing with your hair it will dread faster if you just leave it alone i would try wearing a hat that would keep your hands away from your hair.

I like all kinds of books. From Stephen King's Dark Tower saga, to 'Guns, Germs, and Steel'. Right now I am reading a sci-fi book from the Warhammer 40k universe; Ciaphas Cain ,

Confused

Dreading Methods

yea there is no fear needed just stop playing with it. wash it and dont comb it and it will all work itself out just give it time and love and you will be very happy with the outcome.

Hey newby hear!

Introduce Yourself

Welcome and helloBefore you try and force dread your hair just make sure that you have a full understanding of how to do it.if your gonna try and twist and rip... which is the way i suggest you go as well try and do a little research first find some of the threads that describe the methods of dreading also watch the video that i will be providing at the bottom of my post. It is of another one of the dreadlockssite.com members showing you exactly how you need to go about twisting and ripping. Have fun on your dread journey and be mindful of others and above all else dont use wax keep your hair clean and try not to crochet it will damage your hair and weaken your dreads considerably also be patient. Time is the most important part of the dreading journey. http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/my-twist-and-rip-method

Dreadlock ROOTS question

Dread Maintenance

well we all know that you have quite a bit more experience with dreadlocks then most of us... i mean if you can get them to grow down to your feet then you must know a thing or 2. I mean i have seen a couple of videos on youtube.. and most of them say use wax i only found a couple that didnt and those said to make sure to crochet. Personally ive tried to take everyones ideas into what will oneday be a set of dreadlocks on my head and you have given me some very good info from what i have come to learn. and in time so will rastavanny. He will learn that you were only trying to help him keep them and not loose them in a few years. soaringeagle said:
i tried ard giving advice..and was told i dont know what im talking about
i think e watced 1 youtube vid so thinks tat makes him an expert

labmofgod said:
Thanks, and i agree fully that rastavanny should take construtive criticism better but we all need to get along if we are to take each other seriously. I personally dont take any info to heart of a person that is wicked or mean spirited. I am also not saying anyone here is mean spirited but you must see things that you say through the eyes of those that you say them to.
