What is a Hippie?

my mind associates the word hippie with straight up peace and love. I see flowers and smiles and dancing ring around the rosy style. I see a massive movement of people coming together realizing that they love each other. I see revolutionaries that started a message that changed my life even 40 years later..When people call me a hippie, I just smile and accept it. I am dirty! I do stink! I don't shave! I dance like a maniac! I grow my veggies and make my clothes and cloth diaper and hug strangers till they hug me back! People may think it's silly.. but wait til I hug them too! They'll change their mind!As far as being straight up offended by someone calling you a hippie.. or anything else for that matter.. my only advice is to LET IT GO!! People are changing but until they do, they love to put everything in boxes.. so let them.. you're not in a box and you know it.. so just let it pass by.. show by example that whatever they want to classify you as.. its in the positive box!

just used SEs baking soda wash

Dread Maintenance

holy cow my dreads were gross! I just did it and once it started drying all of this old muddy soapy stuff started bubbling out of the middle of all my fat dreads!! =[.. i was like AAAAHH!! I started rinsing under the bath tub spicket taking each dread and holding at the root so I could squeeze each one.. and it seemed to help.. but daaanng.. i can only imagine how clean my hair will be if i do this like once a month!! yay! sometimes when my hair just gets a little bit wet.. like if i tie them up when i take a shower, or if i get rained on a little.. my head will itch like crazy!! I wash my hair about once a week maybe twice a week, so they're not too dirty, and not too clean.. but sometimes it itches so bad i make my mom hide the damn scissors!.. do you think the baking soda mix will help with this??

I can sing and drum and play the gitter. I can hold a steady one drop on the drum kit, but I love hand drums like djimbes and binghi drums. I can't really finger pick the guitar but I can play chords and sing all my favorite songs!

Dreading Methods

i noticed after about a year of not brushing my perfectly straight hair, that i was getting knots underneath. It never really occurred to me that those were dreads.. i always thought you HAD to put them in your head.. once i realized this was what was happening, and i embraced it, i started back combing some in.. Well that was just way too much work after a couple of days because I noticed that the rest of my hair was so tangled it was still naturally dreading itself no matter what i did to it. So.. i just LET IT GO!When you brush the tangles out of your hair, you are only fighting dreads every time. EVERYONE"S HAIR WANTS TO DREAD! and it WILL, if you just let it! If you have no patience to develop with your locks, then maybe it's not the right time.... ??

seriously though.. more than growing your food.. if you REALLY want to be serious about living a green life.. STOP EATING MEAT!!! Eating meat contributes to the factory farms that are the number one producer of greenhouse gases. it is completely unsustainable and filthy for you and your mama Earth. Karma Jane said:
