did i dread wrong???

Introduce Yourself

Just leave them completely alone apart from washing and using homemade locking accelerator (aka, swim in the sea) and they'll turn out fine, I backcombed mine but used barely any wax (later removed as much as I could) and for the first 3months or so they looked like crap but they've definately tightened up, also I've had mine for 6months now but I still wouldn't call them dreads as there quite a while off maturity but it's still awesome watching them change every day.

Things to help hair dread

Dread Maintenance

haha this may sound weird, but I got swine flu like 3 weeks ago and was in bed for an entire week, during that week my hair tightened up like crazy i think becasue i was always rolling around and lying on them for a week lol, so yeah...sleep a lot lol

Swimming with young dreads?

General Questions

It's the rumours the scamming companies send out, I truly beleived that caucasion hair would not dread by itself and that I would have to get it started. soaringeagle said:
if you did nothing but swim in the ocean or go hike through the woods awhile youd have dreads without effort

Swimming with young dreads?

General Questions

How long should I wait until I am able to go swimming (In the sea) after I finished my dreads, they are only about 1-2 weeks old.

Dreads falling apart?

Dread Maintenance

okay, would nearly boiling water work? soaringeagle said:
ok..if u can remembver which ones it cant hurt to do a lil extra cleaning but if it really was only 1 time and nearly nothing then possibly just soap removed enough

I used next to no wax on about 5 or 6 "to be" dreads before realising it didn't help at all

lock peppa is pure crap a total scam..its literaly dirt they sellya to sprinlkle in your hair
please tell me you at least didnt use wax with it

I did absolutely nothing and the middle has knotted up of its own accord and the tips no longer look matured, I just washed them and put sea salt with lemon and water on my hair, pretty weird.

I think that because I used lock peppa when I backcombed, the middle knots just fell out when I washed them, but I had been palmrolling the tips so that's why the tips looked matured and the loose hair was because of the lock peppa just washing out.
