Super duber itchies

Dread Maintenance

Wow so I washed my hair on sunday and already I notice dandruff and I have the super duper itchies wow. My skin is crawling the whole nine. I don't want to wash so soon tried tea tree oil to soothe but don't want to keep applying every 2-3 hrs what should I do!!! They are very new and delicate short dreads so I don't want to do anything too harsh just yet

short hair ... rubber bands yes or no?

Dreading Methods

Agreed

Cathy said:
Very true. But to have a bead at the root of every dread isn't really practical, for me at least.

Serves the same purpose as a bead.

Because they suit the style of dreads I want and I'm meticulous about removing when they need to be.I have NEVER lost a band within a dread, but I can easily see how they can if left to their own devices.

I had thought the point of this site was to help people get the kind of dreads THEY choose, be they neglect or not. But maybe I'm wrong?

Ive never had any problems using rubber bands make sure you use good quality ones though I used the ones from sallys. dont put them on really tight and make sure that you pay attention to them and you should be okay IMO

Aloe Vera Gel on african type hair=fail

Dreading Methods

If u have African texture hair you need to moisturize your hair properly with oils that can be absorbed easily, try a mixure of extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil. Everyone has a problem dread that isn't up to speed with the rest. But I hate to see you using aloe I don't think that's an adequate Moisturizer for our hair type. Just do what se said put a bead over it and leave it alone, stop obsessive over it itll be fine. It won't stay that way forever

I think you got that right tho i prolly over did it cause i added a little more and more when i noticed it wasnt saying together. Ill try using less perhaps. Hey and like you said SE i can always just wait for it to do its thing..just kinda bothersome cause other then an area on the front hairline its the only place left that hasnt decided to dread fully. Oh well, all things in good time right.
