yeah, it's like hollow inside of his dreads!? why is he doing that to them in the first place. dread abuse. and it makes me cringe to see him cut one..well his do look thin and waxy anyway, where is the frizz or character?he should start over.

Well I'll admit it fooled me in my naive want for smooth manicured looking dreads. I looked at his and watched the videos and knew very little about dreads so I fell for it. But now actually having them, I love that mine are all bumpy and crazy looking, and it seems that nature forms them how they should be and it's exciting to see what they will look like month by month. And I also have a new appriciation for people with natural dreads and have gravitated towards finding them far more attractive to look at knowing what it takes to get them. Dreads are never instant gratification, don't know why I ever thought they were..and in this journey I've learned to have more patience. Everybody should learn to stay away from jonny clean's products

Oh thanks for your replies, I never even thought about that since they had been washed several times since the color had been applied, but that makes perfect sense.

Just saying hi as I'm new. I've only had my dreads a little under two years, but they've come a long way, already I can't imagine not having them. I've battled using wax , and had and rid myself of the nightmare of lice already and they held up through all of that. So I guess they can only get better now. I use manic panic(it's also UV reactive, hence the glow in myavatar picture)to dye them by the way cause I know someone will ask

Whats the longest you're gone without washing you hair?

3months.. I didn't want the color to wash out cause I was tired of always redying them but didn't want the faded dye look. It wasn't really that bad, didn't get as oily as I thought they would. But now I do in phases of dying them and then waiting a month to do the first wash, and after the color is washed out looking I wash it weekly until all the color is gone and then I'll recolor and keep it for a month without washing. I just get tired of having to buy so much dye, but I'm addicted to it being rainbow

yeah there is a rad fae sanctuary within an hour of my house, it's magic, but I don't go that often asI wouldn't want to outstay my welcome as its a small group of people living there so I usually only go for gatherings such as beltane when it's open invitation. yeah burningman is very expensive but familiar to me and i already have my ticket for this year or i would look into going to the main rainbow gathering instead, to be honest i didn't know much about the rainbow family until this year, ive been learning little by little and the more i know the more it seems i need to go...but i just watched that we love you video that you shared and it was amazing, the part with the cops was heartbreaking it made me cry. but maybe by some universal force i can find someone i know that knows someone who can take me to rainbow also and i'll get to know what it's all about sooner than later

At some point I will make it to a gathering..I just don't get out much, occasionally i'll make it to a radical faerie gathering if i'm lucky butwith noextra money and all it's hard to travel, I usually save all the extra I have to go to burningman, which is worth it even the far travel and expense becauseI'vehad the most fun times of my life be in that desert.I live in Alabama so it's kinda out of the way of most events of any kind.
