washing guide: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/page/washing-dreadlocks-guide washing varies but most people go about 2-3 days.

what sort of locking gel is she putting in?

chlorine is fine you don't want it to build up though, so every time be sure to rinsethoroughly & let your hair dry all the way.

locks loosen & tighten & go through stages, just don't brush them out & they will come together.

She put locking gel in but its all out because I went surfing yesterday. Yes the pool has chlorine. They were washed the morning I got them. What should I do to wash? And how often? Any other advice I should consider? Thanks!

new dreads getting wet

Dread Maintenance

Hey everyone! So I play water polo and I'm in the pool 6 days out of the week and I'm a little worried about my baby dreads falling out. I've had them for six days (since 03/07/2012). I have a few friends that have dreads and they told me not to get them wet for a month. My method was back combing. They lady that did them also said keep them dry. Due to my sport this is really difficult. They look great and I love them and I would hate for them to fall out :(Thanks!
