washing guide: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/page/washing-dreadlocks-guide washing varies but most people go about 2-3 days.
what sort of locking gel is she putting in?
chlorine is fine you don't want it to build up though, so every time be sure to rinsethoroughly & let your hair dry all the way.
locks loosen & tighten & go through stages, just don't brush them out & they will come together.

Nope, it may look like the backcomb falls all the way out, but that doesn't mean they won't dread. They'll just take a bit longer to tighten back up. The washing instructions have specifics for baby or mature locks.

any suggestion from past experience or anything on what washing method works best? i was going to just do the baking soda
with baking soda on new dreads i had a pitcher in the bathroom & put the bs & cool water in there, poured it over my hair & let it sit for a little while (normally wash body in the wait). then rinse it out & do the acv rinse & rinse that out too. nothing too tricky. i just got some of the liquid shampoo from http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/ but have yet to use it. It smells great if you prefer having scented to scentless hair/locks. a lot of ppl like it, but a lot of ppl like the baking soda method just fine as well.
