big bald spots imbetween locks, help!

Introduce Yourself

SE- it's not from crotcheting. I had someone crotchet about 4 of my dreads once during my first month. This balding or gaps is throughout my entire head. It's like the parting is the problem or my hair is thinning? I'm not too sure . I just didnt know if this was the case for anyone else and then they found a solution later on. I dont rub the roots on my scalp either. I've let it all just kind of do it's thing. I can post pictures soon.

big bald spots imbetween locks, help!

Introduce Yourself

Hey guys,

I'm cominig up on my 11th month here. My dreads are starting to grow and get tighter by the day. I have large bald gaps imbetween my dreads that are pretty severe. I thought that with time i could expect this problem to correct itself, however no such luck. How on earth do i fix this? Is it even possible? i'm starting to feel like this is just what the top of my head will always look like no matter how long my locks get. Am i destined to have a bald looking head as long as i keep these dreads? On my last set i did not have this problem, only in one area.

It's interesting when you start looking at the back of the ingredients list. There're a lot a things you don't know what the name means, but that are good for you, like tochopherals (vitamin E). The there are things that you should 100% stay away from. HFCS, and modified anything. I'd stay away from most things that say they are used as a preservative. If you can, write it down and look it up at home. If you still have any questions (some wiki answers will only give you the chemical formula and maybe a brief explanation on how it's used in food) ask. I'll try to clear it up as much as I can.

YES it is important :) I guess my new years resolution is to be nicer to my body and start buckling down and eating right.

First things first. No high fructose corn syrup. And no Modified starch. Anything that says modified starch is poison to the body (literaly). HFCS is still inconclusive as to what exactly it does to the body. But if you don't know what it does, I wouldn't eat it. As far as we can tell, it does absolutely nothing.

I haven't seen a reason to give up dairy, unless you get sick from it, or in your case, it creates odorous secretions.

But that's because cheese is addictive. It breaks down into opiates inside the body. People really are addicted to cheese.

Bring your own food if all your work feeds you is crap. It's a little more of a hassle, but your body is important isn't it?

I do have trouble with my diet. I've been wanting to go veg or atleast cut out processed foods for a long time but i keep getting sucked back in. My wife has been watching all of those food inc etc documentaries but it's so hard for me to stop. (especially because my work feeds us crap all of the time!) What kind of staples should i have in my diet. Should i cut dairy out all together? **the dreadlockshampoo site hasnt been working for me all day and i want to make sure i find a shampoo stat** THank you all again!

Everything up to the sebum was mentioned. All I can add is NEVER wash locks every day. at 10 months I'd normally say once a week is perfect, but with that issue, yeah 2-3 times a week will help tremendously. and yes, it needs to be scrubbed off. I had it all the time with piercings. Had to clean them a lot because of it. try a shampoo, because you don't scrub your scalp with BS and ACV. get something you scrub your scalp with. At ten months you could even start using a shampoo bar

so this is terribly embarrassing and frustrating. i have the worst smelly scalp my wife says it smells like parmesean cheese. i wash every week or every other week depending on how busy i am. i have done a deep bakingsoda clean and acv rince as suggested but nothing seems to get rid of the sour smell. i canter wash my dreas/scalp everyday because i am only 10 months in on this set. what do i do? i have used oils everything.
