Bad, good, ugly? The Mrs. let hers down on our last scooter ride and we're wondering if it's going to do more harm than good. It does knot it up, that's for sure. We only go about 45 mph max and are within our first week of neglect.

I'm primarily accessing this site through idevices and the forums went crazy repeating threads, so I need to ask here. Can you paste a link to a thread that you found very helpful for someone in the first few days of starting dreads? I cannot neglect them completely since I don't like one big knot(it happened, my hair knots very easily) so I need a little assistance.My husbands hair is over 24 inches and he would like to start as well. I am hoping the local beauty school will know how to start them purely by hand (we called and asked but got no response) and if they don't, looks like I'm going to have to get his going :0Any link you can send for someone with very long hair or someone with very knotty hair who just started would be highly appreciated!

Wow, thanks for the info. I knew it didn't come from a body of water, I was making a joke about someone calling it Himalayan sea salt. I'm off to make some accelerator now !

I have pink salt and Its from the Himalayas but I've not heard of the Himalayan sea. Is it somewhere in the mountains? Lol now to the real question: does saltwater keep indefinitely? Or should it be made in small batches?

I've got nubs for dreads so far, like hair on one of the brothers on the boondocks length. It will be nice when I'll be able to do something with it. I was recently asked to style my hair for a mass I attended and even my mother thought it was absurd to ask that of me. The woman who asked was lucky I am able to even put it up at this point. I had to sew my own hair tie just to pull it back. Very much so looking forward to styling a bit cause dread braids are so pretty to me.

Study done in 2013 on henna and its toxicity... If you can make sense of this (boo, they did animal testing) it appears to not be a harmful mutagen as previously assumed.

Wow your hair was long. We forgot to measure Mr spiveys hair before the process and you are definitely right, the sectioning for long hair can be brutal. Mine wasn't even that long and it knotted up so fast. Whenever someone asks why I did it, if I wanna give the short answer I say "I had to fight the knots everyday and what's the point of having pretty straight hair if you can't wear it down without having it knot up? I let it do what it wants now". your hair has a lot of character, that's really cool.
