Help me... I don't know what to do.....

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

I am so sorry to hear this story of yours... I'm sending lots of love and compassion your way. This violence is simply sickening and makes me wanna cry. This is something I'm just totally unable to understand.

I'm sorry I can't do much to help, being so far away, but as a professionnal herbalist, I can try to give you some ideas to help your scalp feel better. I specialize in northern american plants, but I'm a bit familiar with plants and products from your area, so I'll try to help you with what you can normally find easily.

You could try coconut oil, for exemple. Just apply some on your scalp for the night, and you should feel better in the morning. Curcuma would also be a wonderful option for you. Just mix some curcuma powder with warm water to obtain a paste and apply on your scalp. Wrap your hair in a towel and let it sit for about 1h, then rinse. Curcuma is super effective for itching and inflammation. You could also drink some curcuma milk with ghee (I'll suppose you know how to make some, if not just ask me). This would help with the emotional shock you've just had, soothing your emotions and purify your liver, wich is our most important organ while dealing with this kind of events.

Hope this will help a bit. In any case, I'm thinking about you and your friends, sending you love.

Combed them out.... :(

General Talk

I almost combed out my dreads some weeks ago. I was having a hard time separating and was really upset about my health problems and constant suffering. I suddenly felt a deep urge to comb them all out, just because I felt like I had to do something, anything. I'm glad I could resist, but I can understand how you felt yourself and why you did it. I'm sending lot of love your way, plus many many hugs.

groups beta testers needed asap

General Talk

Yeah, I didn't see you on the chat so I knew there was something going on. You certainly was missed here! But glad you're back. I've already created the crystal healing and plant healing groups. I like the look of the new groups alot and how we can change it as we please. And this is really smooth to create and manage. I think I'll have fun! :)

Thanks Robyn, I think I'll go read this blog of yours haha. I had a bad dream about separating last night. People were saying I had to comb all my dreads out and begin anew. I was feeling so shitty haha But well, that was only a dream :)

General Questions

Thanks for your kind words Tara, I'll try the bead idea for sure. I'm glad to know all this is just normal stuff and happens to mostly everyone with dreadlocks :) You sound really at peace with your dreads. This is beautiful to read. <3

My head is a mess

General Questions

I posted some pictures on my profile, but I don't have some where we can really see what's going on there. I wash my hair about twice a week. My hair is matting alot more after washing too. Maybe I'll try keeping it at only once a week to see if this helps. Thanks for your reply all, this gives me courage and certainly sooths my anxiety. I think I'll try not to look in the mirror to often too, this might help alot haha Love.

My head is a mess

General Questions

Thank you guys. I'm a bit desperate about my hair today and since waiting is not something I'm good at, it's really hard on me haha But I'll have to learn to be patient, that's one of the reasons I'm growing dreadlocks...

My head is a mess

General Questions

I'm having some freak out time since the past few weeks. I'm now between 8 and 9 weeks into my natural dreadlocks journey. Everything seemed to go fine for the first month, with nice sectioning and all. Then at about 5 weeks, my hair began to knot. And then the fun began too. My hair is super super fine and knots really well. Like too well. Plus it's knoting near the base and I'm really having a hard time separating all my dreads correctly. Sometimes I can't even figure where one begins and one ends. Plus my hair is knoting so fast, I need to separate like 4 times a day. But it's knoting only at the base, so all the tips tend to tangle with the others and I'm kind of freaking out sometimes. I'm a really anxious person, so I'm worrying alot about all this. I try to follow an advice I saw alot on this site and "forget I have hair", but my messy head is so messy... I know I'm probably worrying over nothing, but I'm still worrying anyway. And now all my dreads seem to be falling apart, sectioning again or congo and the mess is becoming alot messier... Oh well...
