Going veg and need a hand

Dreads and Diets

The awesome thing about being veg on a budget is you can grow almost all your own food. Are you able to dig a garden? If not, you can grow food in containers. Like tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, all those grow really well in pots. I love upside down pots for tomatoes. This would save you a lot of money on food and you can leave them on the plant until ready to be eaten to cut back on waste. Things to buy would be things that grow on trees or deep underground like nuts and tubers. Although you can grow carrots and potatoes in a fish aquarium and it works nicely. The problem would be waiting on yield. Good luck!

After dreadlocks????

General Talk

You can make dreads look professional. I wore my first set to work and was worried about the same thing, but most people didn't even notice that I had dreads because I always wore a really wide headband to cover my crazy flyaway hairs.

I dont want to cut them know! I'm still very young and hope I will find new ways through life. I can not say how I would think 10 years from now, and what my experience will do to me. I do not see my dreadlocks as something that has "changed" me for who I am now. I love them very much, But there are things that have had a greater influence on the person I am now.
also I will get a hard time getting a job.

After dreadlocks????

General Talk

No way! I've waited too long and feel too strongly about it to go back! Besides, I hate my hair without dreads. I had them before and brushed them out for a man ( yeah I know lol) and I regret it every day from the moment I did it. I know from that experience there's no going back to brushed hair.

new dreads and dry scalp

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Ok. I'll try the oils. The smell while using the vinegar is what I don't like. I clean with it, but I soak orange peels in it for a week so I don't have to smell it while I'm cleaning.

new dreads and dry scalp

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I hate vinegar. Would it have a negative impact on my hair if I scented it with orange peels?

new dreads and dry scalp

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Hi! I haven't brushed my hair since December first and I've been washing with baking soda and cold water. My hair hasn't really locked much at all but my scalp is really dry and itchy. I have no dandruff, just extreme itch that drives me crazy! I didn't think oils would be a good idea since my isn't locked.

Wen shampoo?

Dread Maintenance

Has anyone used Wen shampoo on dreads? Is there any reason not to?

Hullo, dread-heads!

Introduce Yourself

I did cuz my mom threatened to shave my head if I didn't brush my hair lol. Now I'm grown and didn't cuz I thought I couldn't get a job, but my work puts up with the piercings tattoos and crazy headscarf styles, so what's one more thing? lol. I'm lucky to have a job where I'm valued for my work ethic and not my appearance. It helps that I work nights and patients' families don't see me much lmfao

Heavy Heart :(

Life Issues Facing Dreads

Exactly! We all have little things we don't like about our spouses. I don't like that my husband cut his long hair off and has taken to shaving most of his beard off, but whatever. I told him I didn't like it and if my opinion was a factor in his decision he would have grown it back out. He hasn't. Eventually (if we're not shallow) we just come to accept these things.
